Thank you so much for making, milling your own flour fun as well as nutritious! The internet is full of bread recipes, your site and youtube channel is such a welcome change. We need the bread for sure, but the world today is so crazy, it is nice to have fun recipes to play with along the way. Do you think that I could use your recipe to make Mille-Feuille? Also would you consider showing us how to make Pate A Chow dough, my husband loves cream puffs. One more please, would you also consider showing us how to make croissants with freshly milled flour. I am asking a lot, I know, but you have me so excited to play. Thank you so much for all of your videos. suzie

Hi, thank you so much! I do think the puff pastry would work for a Mille-Feuille, yum! Let me know if you make it! I have a cream puff/pate a choux I have made, I am still tweaking it before I can post it. I have mastering croissants on my list. I love branching out and trying new things! I am not afraid to fail with them, 😂 It just helps me compute more info into making the recipe better! 😊

I will let you know as soon as I make my Milli-Feuille. Again, thank you for getting back to me.suzie@@GrainsInSmallPlaces

Oh my! My mouth is watering. I may try to make 8 instead of 4. Those are huge turnovers!
@GrainsInSmallPlaces Жыл бұрын
Yes, each time I have made them since, I have divided them into 9 smaller turnovers by cutting a 12 inch square into thirds each way. That way we end up with more and it's a win-win! 😋

Helps to put grater and glass bowl into freezer for 15-20 mins before using. Like you said your hands are warm. Thx for mentioning using European butter, I'd forgotten. Also you can use food grade gloves to help with keeping warm hands off butter/dough and/or putting your hands under cold water then drying well.

Very Cool. BTW, thanks for the recipes and teaching us how to make these delicious treats. I''m am a novice and rarely weigh out flours, when a recipe calls for grams I have always thought it was meant the weight of the flour after grinding. Did not know it was actually talking about the weight of the grain before grinding. am I understanding this correctly? thanks again. 😊

Thank you! 😀

Yes, the weight of the grain before milling will be the same weight of the flour after milling. The volume is different but the weight is the same. Weighing the wheat berries before milling means you don’t have to measure the volume afterwards. So nice when the weight is given in a recipe.

Yes, Beth has it right! The weight of the grains should grind to the same weight of flour.

Excited to try this - great for holidays - will make minis so it's a grab and go - yes do many fruits to use with this! I read that if I use less flour when making it will help to be lighter since using fresh milled it is denser than store bought - well mine is - high humidity too. Loved you showed rolling details- counting rolling pushing now I can watch and do - until I learn it😊

Yay! Yes, I have made smaller ones, and actually like those better! I roll it to a 12 inch square and divide by thirds each way to get me 9 turnovers. You could probably go one step smaller and make 16. (4x4) Hope you enjoy them! Thank you! (the printable recipe has the adjusted amount to make 9) 😃

When i made your cheese cracker recipe? I forgot to bring butter to room temperature. I was shredding my cheese, and halfway through, I also shredded the cold butter. It worked perfectly in my tabletop shredder. I am looking forward to making more of your delicious recipes 😊 Thanks so much for sharing 😀
