@EasyOSX3 жыл бұрын
That’s fair, that is something I probably should have actually mentioned and forgot to cover. To charge it, you need to connect up a Lightning charger cable (the same one the iPhone uses) either to a wall charger, the back of the Apple TV, or some other USB port (probably a wall charger for most people). Thank you for catching that.

Hello, I am trying to connect my Nintendo switch to this tv and need to know how do I switch to HDMI 2 on Apple TV? I see it says HDMI 1 when I turn the tv on, but i don’t know how to edit it.
@EasyOSX4 ай бұрын
I’m not aware of doing input switching from the Apple TV. If your TV supports HDMI CEC then you can enable that feature on your Switch so it can automatically turn on and switch the TV inputs when you turn on the Switch in the dock. If not then you’d have to use the TV set’s provided remote or input button on the screen itself.

@EasyOSX3 жыл бұрын
Yes it can. You may need to turn on something called HDMI CEC, on the TV as well as the box, but usually that’s turn on by default. But if both the box and the TV are off, and you turn on the box, then the TV screen will turn on as well and go to the Apple TV’s input. Likewise if you turn off the TV screen, the Apple TV box will turn off

Hey Cisco. I’ll be honest, I’ve never tried it, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. Personally, if I had the option I’d consider getting the newer silver Remotes as opposed to the one in this video, but if you already have the older, black one, then it’s worth a shot.

@EasyOSX2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chioma, do you mean like restarting the app entirely or just the video you’re watching? If it’s the video you’re watching that’s app dependent. If you meant the whole app, I don’t think there is a way to do it without the trackpad other than the remote app on your iPhone or iPad.

Is there a way to hold and scroll as opposed to constantly swiping?
@EasyOSX3 жыл бұрын
When rewinding or fast forwarding in a video then yes you can do that. If you mean through items in a list, some apps support “fast scroll” where you scroll through with the right edge of the touch pad. That said, most apps don’t do this, and you’ll have a faster time just flicking your finger across the touchpad with a little more force like you would on your phone.

How do you turn the TV off and on with it?
@EasyOSX2 жыл бұрын
Hey Todd. There’s not a good easy way to do it with this remote. Your best option is if your TV support HDMI-CEC is to make sure that is enabled. Then when you turn the Apple TV on the TV will turn on. Unfortunately you’ll have to turn off the TV screen to then turn off the Apple TV. There’s not a single dedicated button like there is on the new remote.

@EasyOSX3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ammar! On both the old and new remotes, hold down the TV button. A menu will pop up on the right side of the screen and you can hit “Sleep”. If your TV supports HDMI CEC then you can also just turn off your TV screen and it will put the Apple TV to sleep. If you’ve got the new Siri Remote then you can hold the power button in the top right corner to turn off the screen and box.

Depends on the remote and if you have HDMI-CEC. If you have the silver Siri Remote, press and hold the power button. If you have the black TV remote, then you may need to use Siri and ask it to “Turn off the TV”

How do I just turn it off?
@EasyOSX2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeanine. If your TV screen supports HDMI CEC, the. Just turning off the Screen will also turn off the box. If you just want to turn off the box, and you’re using the model remote in this video, then you’re really just putting the box to sleep rather than fully off. In that case press and hold the TV button for a few seconds until the sidebar pops up and then hit “Sleep”. If you’re using the new silver 4K/Siri remote, then just press and hold the power button at the top of the face of the remote for a few seconds.

@EasyOSX2 жыл бұрын
Hey Pascale, it sounds like you're having some trouble. Is the touchpad a bit too responsive or not responsive enough? Or is something else going on?
@pascales.14622 жыл бұрын
@@EasyOSX It's barely responsive and I have no idea how to "back" to another screen (I'm an android girl - but this is what we have at work and I have no choice).
@EasyOSX2 жыл бұрын
Hey Pascale, no worries. I can try to help you through this. Assuming it's the same model remote as in the video, tapping once on the "Menu" button will typically take you back one level. What this looks like depends on the app, so a video player like KZbin will take you out of a video if you're watching one on the first press, and then perhaps to the sidebar and home menu on the second, and the Apple TV Home screen on the third. Pandora will likely take you to the menu at the top of the screen on the first press and home on the second. Overall though, it is generally done by tapping the "Menu" button that you have a sort of, but not exact, equivalent of Android's back button. If the touchpad is your issue, assuming it's not a hardware failure, then you may try one of two things. The first is maybe adjust the pressure you're using on the trackpad. Typically it functions pretty similarly to a laptop trackpad and doesn't need much pressure, but maybe pressing a little more or little less will help. That said, you might also go into the Settings app, hit the "Remotes and Devices" menu, and then select "Touch Surface Tracking". This will let you adjust how sensitive the touchpad is to your inputs. Since you said it's not responsive, perhaps increasing the sensitivity will help. Try that and let me know if it works
