Your persona is one of the best I’ve seen so far. Maybe share tips on how you got such great results. Also I think because you are quite expressive with your face movements when you talk it makes your persona more believable because it is so animated as opposed to being quite still. Great video!

I think it's a gaussian splatting 3d model properly tracked. Considering it's a beta feature I think, in the future, it will be possible to scan the entire body. With the iPhone lidar scanner it's possible to scan super realistic models and watch them in the Luma app.

Amazing. Of course not perfect but comparing with the classic avatars it is awesome. I expect you'll be able to change that Persona appearance to different styles eventually (anime, stylized, effects… you know)

It looks a bit uncanny valley but also looks more than acceptable. A really great first job for first gen Persona. I’d imagine it looks better in the headset. Does the Persona window display in 3D or is it just a flat screen image?

That's a good question, is it 3D. I very much doubt it is though. I suspect it's a render to texture to allow playback on other devices like iPhones.

Its totally him. Are you high? Yes its not perfect at all, but what it IS capturing in terms of nuance and expressions that are unique to Sebastian, I TOTALLY saw here! I actually paused several times after Seb made a face he's made IRL and immediately said "Oh shit, that was a Seb face for sure!"; I've seen a LOT of these, and SadlyitsBradley had the best reaction; He thought it was amazing. Because Sadly understands what the tech is actually doing and appreciates it for the innovation it is. Of COURSE its uncanny valley, and we can see the flaws... any idiot can harp on those and point those obvious things out. How about trying to understand what it is doing RIGHT, and how groundbreaking it is, and how incredibly close it is to what we will eventually have? Its not about pessimism vs optimism; How about just being honest and REALISTIC? Balance people!

If you know Seb and watched a lot of his stuff, you will see his unique facial expressions all throughout; its actually remarkable the details its catching. I actually understand the tech under this, and have a LOT of backround in VR / AR / MR industry and personal user; This stuff is at its ground coding and what its doing is REALLY GOOD and so close to being damn near amazing.

Its very obvious to anyone with a TINY bit of vision and imagination can see incredible use cases when you combine photo real digital avatars, AI, Live Maps, world wide persistent and anchored digital objects in the real world. The promise of being able to essentially digitally teleport yourself anywhere in the world with high fidelity is amazing. Unless you're completely living under a rock with the IQ of self same rock, its so obvious it shouldn't have to be pointed out. The early versions of the internet were so tedious it would be easier to send snail mail or just communicate via phone. To those with the "if it aint broke dont' fix it" mentality, we would never have built the internet. You need to be able to see 10 years into the future and we've proven that can be done over and over even despite the constant naysaying of the cynical luddites.

@@WigganNuG the typewriter actually types on paper, my phone does not, I need a printer for that. And my phone's webcam is better than this crap. Meta showed actually good avatars on a device which is less than half. This is a half-baked piece of crap. Most cameras attached to a computer, can do face capture and avatar animation, much better than this sorry-ass-shit. Much better photogrammetry can also be done. Even hair can be animated.

@@Hellknight27 Yea, but those are being driven by incredibly powerful PC's with highly detailed scans. These are being driven on laptop M2 and R2 chips on a STAND ALONE DEVICE made by doing a scan with the headset itself in less than a minute!! Think about that.... like a LOT.

I literally can't disagree more; I watch a lot of Sebs stuff and I know his expressions; I actually stopped this video several times shocked at how well it captured Sebs unique expressions.
