Smart home sound great. But why do you need to be connected to the internet to turn on the light in the other room? Otherwise it doesn't work! Talk about the pinnacle Surveillance

Aqara zigbee products work without internet, I don’t know about others.

You do not have to, at least if you're using HomeKit or Matter. So Matter is based on HomeKit and HomeKit runs entirely locally. It's one of the big benefits because others, like Amazon and Google, would typically require your command to be sent to the cloud then back to your home.

I’d say $400 as being an affordable price for shades is debatable. Switchbot has much more affordable similar products.

Every booth has different colored lights from super warm yellow to cool to colored bulbs. It’s not possible to change it, even with grading
