@@Brownie-tg3nu It was hard to find, they only wanted to sell me the new one with the digital controls, it has mixed reviews. Got the Maytag commercial model instead. Super happy with my decision. The sales guy kept trying to talk me out of it he said "You don't want that that's for hospitals or laundry mats that have to run it all day every day for years." I said "I do want that, your making it sound great."

@@Brownie-tg3nu That doesn't exist WHEN you buy a SPEED QUEEN. My Kenmore (27 yrs of use/3 moves) died 8-9 yrs ago. Bought a Speed Queen AWNE92SP113. Claimed would outlast my Kenmore. Quit working last week. COMMUNICATION ERROR. Replaced it because cost to repair made ZERO sense *over 1/3 the cost of the entire machine to replace the bottom circuit board which according to tech who came out was the 'one that fails first routinely". Replacement Speed Queen TR7003WN didn't last 2 days. It never washed or spun right. Made a horrible noise. Couldn't be or stay leveled. Was without question the WORST machine I have ever seen! My sis bought an LG the same time I bought my AWN. Hers is still going strong, no service call at all. Here is what I learned about SP. Similar to luxury car. Costs more to own. Costs more to operate (discovered the reason my power and water bill were so high - SP! Difficult to find service or expert tech to fix and repair costs RIDICULOUS. And apparently most have been redesigned. My AWN was a dream when it worked. Didn't realize it was an energy hog. Sales staff will tell you they are COMMERCIAL Grade machines. NO they aren't. The residential machines have different circuit boards than ones that go in laundromat. Sales will tell you front panel allows for easy repairs. NO it doesn't. The cost of the part needed was $260, easily accessible after taking off front panel and shield. Cost of labor $240! AND dealer techs are NOT factory trained. And there are no field Speed Queen reps who can help (if you buy a luxury car the brands do have factory reps who work with dealers. When it comes to SP - dealers rules (and are the actual customers of SQ). They determine to whom they will sell and/or provide service. I could write a book (some may say I did) why BUYER BEWARE of Speed Queen. I would love to see real numbers for cost analysis for all brands. MY guess after what I lived that WHIRLPOOL and LG may be a way better value. When it comes to QUALITY - I think our GOVT' interference hurt all the manufacturers. I have been left with the opinion Speed Queen is riding legacy reputation.

Nope, LG statistically outperforms Speed Queen. Yale Appliance recorded 5.3% repair calls for Speed Queen in the 1st year of ownership vs 2.6% repair calls for LG in the 1st year of ownership. Speed Queen is a good washer, but it's certainly not the best. There's less of them sold, which skews the perception that they don't break down as much. Just bc you see less of an appliance in repair shops than a mass-produced appliance, that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. It just means there's less of them out there to visually gauge the rate of repair.

Not everybody can afford one.
@richardgray8593 Жыл бұрын
@@YourMajesty143 It's the opposite of what you say. Extreme example: Suppose Yale sold two Speed Queens, and one of them needed repair. 50% of Speed Queens need repair, therefore Speed Queens are junk. LG washers will be in the landfill when Speed Queens are still going strong.

Most modern washers are disposable junk that may wash okay, but do not rinse well enough. They are disposable and end up curb side in less than 10 years. Their economy and ecology are imaginary. 35 years ago was the renaissance of great washing machines. Not only were they durable, repairable, designed around practical, user-friendly options, but they rinsed and washed better than anything comparable in today’s market. Plus, they were aesthetically pleasing. Now they all look as if they come out of the same factory.
@kennixox262 Жыл бұрын
I think that a lot of rinsing problems in front loaders/top loaders is that people overload the machine. Another factor may be putting in too much detergent.
