Our five year old KitchenAid was stopping in mid-cycle. I was about to call a repair service when as a last resort did a search on the subject. That is when I found this post. I don't know how much I saved on a service call because I never had to make that call. Your instructions were excellent in every aspect. When I got to the impeller a small piece of plastic was lodged in the cover. Put it back together and now I say, Thank You.

This fixed my problem as well and took only ~15 minutes from the time I viewed the video. Great tutorial - thanks so much for taking the time to post. (Note: this was after a technician came out, listened to the cycle, consulted the guide, and told me I had a bad motor that needed to be replaced for $400+). The obstruction by the impeller was the plastic parts that keep breaking on this model of KitchenAid!

Thank you!! My KitchenAid (model # kuds30fxssa) would start, sound like it was filling, then stop and cancel/drain itself after 2 minutes. This video led me straight to the problem. The irony is that the piece blocking the impeller was a plastic piece that broke off the top rack wheels - the dishwasher broke itself! This video was easy to follow and super helpful. Thank you so much!

ApplianceVideo.com, this video helped me clean out my Kitchenaid KUDK03FTSS2. There were hard white beans and a chip of porcelein in the impeller area. Plus corn, black beans and paper under the filter cover. I also snapped off the screen part and scrubbed off the strings of who-knows-what. Thank you for posting this video!

Tip: be very careful unsecrewing those screws... that fine screen there... It looks very delicate. It would probably be easy to poke a hole or have your drill skip out and hit it... then you have to get a new one.

I found a couple of bread ties, a straw, and a broken piece of plastic that is the same color of this part. After removing everything and putting it back together, I’ve still got a loud noise. I don’t think it’s the pump, it fills and drains quietly. If I have to replace something, what part is it? Thanks for posting this video. EDIT: After watching another video of yours. The chopper wheel would not spin freely, I did not know if it should.

ApplianceVideo.com I’m going to have to replace something. I’m guessing the whole motor and assembly, the cutter is separated from the wheel, the wheel has damage. The video I’ve seen, this looks pretty complicated. The part is between $125-$200, depending on my model. Yay.

KitchenAid KUDW02FRSS0 the circulation pump motor hums until it shuts off after a couple of minutes. Could it be the capacitor? The motor was stuck because of debris in the food grinder. I removed some of the debris and forced the motor to turn. It still was not turning easily with the pump attached. I'm thinking it may be the food grinder is not cleaned out right. Maybe I need to remove the motor to clean out the grinder. What do you think? If that doesn't work I'm checking the capacitor when my capacitor tester arrives in a few days. Am I doing this right?

We have a Kitchenaid KDTM404ESS2 that stopped mid-cycle after adding some utensils. We use ProScrub all the time with SaniTemp and SaniRinse cycles. NOTHING WORKED from any video until I read one line in the service manual. "PRESS ANY THREE KEYS IN SEQUENCE SEVERAL TIMES" ANY THREE KEYS...DOOR CLOSED. The Blinking lights went out and the computer rebooted. All is well and saving on a service call is like winning a $300-$500 on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
