I believe your issue is the type of cable you’re using. The most basic quartz cable can only handle 1 “channel” aka 1 interface. Much like if you add a 9th interface to a Smart Cable which can handle 8 “channels” the whole system shuts down. If you use a Smart Cable or a Dense Cable (32 “channels”) in that setup it will work.
@donbert2 жыл бұрын
You can think of each “channel” being a separate lane on a road and in your example you need one lane going into the furnace and another lane going out of the furnace back to the system. The basic glass cable is like a one way single lane road that you stared from the ME system to the furnace but when you try to route another one way road out of the furnace in the wrong direction it causes a crash. By using the “smart” cable you’re using a wide 8 lane highway where everyone gets their own lane/direction.

If anyone else is seeing this, i managed to fix by simply adding more cables weapped around the interface, it says you gain 8 channels per side that is connected, so just wrap it with cables somewhere

If you're playing AE2 with othe mods such as mekanism or iron furnaces, the use of the import terminal is not needed, when the machine (or furnace) can be set to input/output from one side. In this case only the pattern provider can act as the I/O and the network will handle the rest.

@@Failgames47 Welcome. the normal way before was to hook the output from the crafting machines directly into an ME interface. The way that I've always used auto crafting that just makes it easy to do is I discovered all the way back in 1.6.4 that you could simply place a diamond chest on top of the ME interface, and then it would just output the items directly into the chest, and then you pump them out with a item duct or Ender IO item conduit. Since we unfortunately don't have either of those mods updated to 1.18.2 yet, you have to use the clunky and basic Pipez mod to be able to move items from one inventory to another. I'm sure there's a way to do it with applied and logistics, but I don't prefer to use the automation from that mod because it's difficult. You should make your next video about how to set up a Auto crafting system for the Ae2 processors using the auto crafting and the Pipez mod. This would definitely make people's lives a lot easier in 1.18.2, since many of the mods aren't updated and up until about July 1.18.2 was basically unplayable.

channel system is confusing due to lack of in-game information but it's very fun to work with. basic cable and device can carry 8 and dense cable 32. each controller face provides 32 so a single controller with dense cable gives you plenty. protip for tiny networks and subgrids: devices don't need an me controller to work as long as theres 8 or less, then controller is needed to fix them by providing more channel
@Liineeeee Жыл бұрын
actually a controller face can provide up to 32 * 7 channels the use of P2P tunnel allow to create a subnet containing 8 P2P tunnels with 1 connected directly to a controller s face. (a P2P interface can only be placed with a 8 channel cable because of it s size) and then, you can put dense cable for each of the 7 P2P tunnel that serves as "output"

had a play on just AE2 and Thermal Series for the machines... you just need to link it back to the cable coming in to the pattern provider. so ignoring coal, you put a cable into the pattern provider on the top of the furnace, an importer under the furnace and a cable going back up to the cable connecting to the pattern provider. Then, if you want coal, a side cable with exporter with coal in it. This is working well. Although, using a redstone furnace from thermal is both neater and faster to smelt :D

Have you attached an input bus that pulls items out of the assembler? If no do that, if yes: - check the input bus is online (in the ME controller's interface, or it could say in the WAILA box at the top of your screen if you have that mod enabled) - check you don't have any filters applied to the input bus (item filters or redstone enabled) Hope this helps!

I think It means you don't have enough co processing unit power. You might want to try upgrade yours or add more (I'm 90% sure that's what it means)
@Liineeeee Жыл бұрын
no he is wrong, you re not missing co processing, you re missing crafting capacity, to craft something, the crafting unit will get everything into its memory. As such, if you need to store more items in the waiting list, you need more memory, either you make a bigger crafting unit with more storage units, either you improve your units to handle more

not a very good tutorial, doesn't explain a lot and shows stuff that doesn't work well. mainly talking about the furnace part. A truly basic setup doesn't even need an ME controller, you don't need the co-processor for it to work either, especially with the setup shown it wouldn't do anything but waste space and resources. Your setup doesn't involve managing the furnace's fuel at all. The way you wired it made it automatically push any valid fuel available on the network (wooden tools, logs, blaze rods, things you wouldn't want to smelt usually) into the furnaces fuel slots. The way it works is that the furnace only accepts items for smelting from the top, fuel from the sides and you can only get the the result of the process at the bottom. The pattern provider works by pushing the items from the process into any adjacent inventory and waits for the results to be pushed into it or into the network that the pattern provided is a part of. The reason you had an error pop up with missing channels was because you've had all the devices (including the interface) were connected together, the regular cable (naked and covered) can only handle up to 8 channels, and you had 9 when you connected them all together (3 terminals, 2 interfaces, 2 buses, 1 crafting CPU and the ME Drive). After you isolated the furnace export bus into it's own cable connected to a different face of the controller only then you were able to get this working. The proper way to make this work is to put the raw materials + the fuel into the pattern (ex. 8 cobble, 1 coal -> 8 stone (can be 1 cobble, 1 coal but that would waste coal in the long run)), make the pattern provider push into a barrel so it can be handled with hoppers or an AE2 sub-network. It wouldn't waste tons of channels on the main network which you would probably be expanding with the time. I'm not here to ridicule, but i just wanted to point out the flaws in this tutorial and help just a little bit.

Thank you very much for your comment, I appreciate the detail and will certainly re-read it in the event I make another video on this topic (or even just for personal use when using AE2). I'm by no means an expert, especially concerning the channel system, as I never looked into "new" AE2 versions (since Java 1.4.7) that precisely. If I didn't make that clear in the video, I would certainly do so in the event of future iterations. Again I thank you for your detailed response and appreciate you taking the time out of your day to write it :)
