That is slick! Love the tips and tricks! I love making patterns my own. It really slays me when quilters are so upset that they can't get the exact fabrics the pattern is in. I used panels for my grandkids baby quilts. It was so much fun to build out from there. I love 'making something work' for me.

In response to your opinion about half-square triangles, specifically. The quilter is Tiffany and what you may not know is: She saves all the left-over pieces to turn into hourglass units - - obviously very small, but her "scraps" are not scraps - - she has a plan. I watched all of her episodes for 25-patch blocks and decided she was on to something! The final trim down comes in making all the hour glass units the same size - - scrap quilters really like this stuff! and, I am fairly certain she had less scraps at the end of her project that you showed. I was so taken with her "final solution" that I have determined that I would to the same! ( I LOVE scraps!) You have made me a better scrap quilter with your ideas. I THANK YOU for that! Your videos have provided many hours of industry and pleasure while I make quilts for my friends and family (laugh at the differences between you and myself!) Scrap quilting is a skill! LOL

P.S. Most of the time I totally agree with your opinions - - yardage is way less expensive than buying the pre-cuts!

I love Elizabeth Hartman's patterns. They look difficult, but they're actually very straightforward. Your advice is so good - always READ the whole pattern and really think about the instructions before you start cutting! There might be a better way.

Hello! I’m a new subbie, binge watching today. I have the dachshund quilt pattern. My plans were to use a reddish brown fabric for the body because my male doxie is that color. I’m also going to make the ears flop.

You are by far the best KZbin quilter!! I love you so much. Because of you I am finally learning to quilt. I hope to become a fabric designer and known in the quilting community. I am an artist and I draw and paint for 40 years. I plan on using that to be a big deal in the community. I have retired so I can dedicate all my time to quilting. If I am successful I will be sure to give you credit and bring you along for the ride!! Thank you so much for everything and helping peruse my life long dream. I wanted to do this since I was 9.

I love your videos. I think we think a lot alike. I love quilting videos but I'm constantly wondering why they did things they did. I'm always thinking of easier and less wasteful ways to do things.

10:40 awesome thinking. But does a turtle has triangular feet? I would sew a square.

Maureen, my opinion is that you need a wireless bluetooth clip-on microphone. 🙂
