Hey, I saw your last video : how to get an entry level cybersecurity job in 6 months and you shared a roadmap in it. Because of your suggestions, I enrolled in Google's certification course and doing it now. Its been 20 days. Due to my current job, I am not able to spend enough time but still studying 2-3 hours per day. I know its slow😢😢 but still trying to do as much as I can. Hopefully one day, I will also get the success which I want to achieve and I will also be in your success list. Thanks Unix Guy❤

I’m on module 6 of 8 in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. I have to say these are the most boring courses ever. The content could probably be given in a very thin manual yet they (like government regulated instruction…I.e., real estate, insurance…etc) manage to stretch it into weeks worth of video watching with a large portion of motivational videos to boost your self-esteem. Having said all that, it’s an easy way to get started. So far I’ve enjoyed the CLI Linux module. If I have to learn more GRC acronyms, my brain is going to explode. @unixguy I really appreciate your road map. I’m also enrolling in B.S. Cyber Security program just in case.

He went on vacation and his colleagues decided to interview me. They assured me I am a good fit and that they just need another interview with the Client. At the End they just ghosted me and didn’t even get back to me which is quite humilated and I felt so discouraged being a newbie in this field. Salam Unix, I was studying Chiropractic for 4 years and was about to become a chiropractor before I became quadriplegic (paralysed). I’m now thinking of swapping to IT and I’ve got a couple questions: 1) Is cyber security disability accessible? I can use a mouse perfectly fine but I’m using my voice instead of typing 2) when it comes to IT, I’m literally at the most basic. How hard is the Google certificate? I’m teaching myself Python before I enrol into the certificate because I don’t want to spend more than a month doing the certificate, do you think this is a good idea? Thank you heaps for your videos you are the reason that gave me the boost to swap fields.
@UnixGuy3 ай бұрын
Hey mate sorry to hear the medical issue, it must be hard! 1) Accessibility is highly dependent on the organisation. You’ll find bigger organisations more accomodating. Unfortunately I dont think enough is being done at this front! but its possible 2) I believe the google cert is possible and if you find you struggling you can always do the google IT support cert!

Unixguy Could you please answer my question, please? As a beginner in Cybersecurity who finished Google cert and trying to learn GRC, what type of job title would be suitable to do as a part-time job or freelancer in Cybersecurity because of uni hours???
@UnixGuy3 ай бұрын
for GRC you’re gonna have to do GRC Mastery: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWesmJ6pd9WAfJYsi=NLWWEksqK0UpuW-j As for part time, the majority of jobs are full time but in university you may find some student part time jobs. Same process, search for ‘cyber’ but also look at IT support roles or helpdesk roles as well (take whatever you can get)
