Amen. #5 particularly caught my interest. About a year or so ago, God led me to study Ephesians 5:22-31 a little closer than I had before. I truly believe that’s when He started preparing me for marriage. He has really changed my heart in that time and my view of marriage has completely changed. Although I am still single, I do believe that God starts preparing people months or even years before an actual relationship manifests. Marriage is a serious, lifelong covenant and not to be entered into lightly.

Hey, Mark. This is off topic, but I wanted to share this with you. I've been taking guitar lessons for the past two years. I've been wanting an electric guitar for a long time. My instructor gave me one of his electric guitars. He didn't sell it to me. He gave it to me. It's a Charvel and it's nicer than anything I could have ever picked out for myself. The next day I walked into the music store looking to buy a cord to hook up to an amp and the guy at the counter gave me a new cord--never been opened. No joke. I told my mom and my dad about my new guitar and my dad was really excited about it because he used to play guitar back in the 70s. Then I went back to the store and bought a cheap practice amp and two days later I got a check in the mail from my dad to pay for my amplifier and I never asked him for anything. God blessed me with an electric guitar set up that was nicer than anything I could have bought and it didn't cost me a dime. God is good!

Cool! That reminds me of how I just got my computer about a month ago. I work in Internet provisioning, and work just updated all their computer equipment recently and held two sales to get rid of all the old ones. I couldn't afford one at the first sale, but the second sale was a PC, monitor, and keyboard for $50! I had a set put on hold, and it waited on me to scrape together $50 all thru the holidays. Then someone in the IT department told me they were sold out. I thought that included mine, and I forgot all about it. A month later, another IT guy asked me, "We've still got it, do you still want it?" That morning, I had had a vet appointment that I had set aside $500 for, and the situation turned out to be nothing serious, I just had to pay for an exam. So I bought my computer the next day and took it home- a Windows 8.1, supposedly. It didn't work. So I took it back, and IT fixed it for me. Here's the GOOD part: even IT couldn't tell me what was really wrong with it. They said, "We don't know, we think it was a driver issue, but whatever- we installed Windows 10 on it for ya." So I got an up-to-date Windows PC for $50! Now I just gotta afford Internet (besides my phone) and some good digital art software.... Well, I know He didn't give me a computer just to sit around and play solitaire.

bravoman I hear your hurt. Actually I learned this truth the hard way as well. It was the result of a broken marriage that led to divorce. I realized I needed to take a close look at myself and the role I played in the marriage. What areas of my character contributed to the unsuccessful marriage? As for finding a mate the Bible teaches us in 1Corinthians Chapter 7 to seek God first and foremost. Secondly, we need to get to a place of contentment in our singleness. In other words, I am going to develop a great life with or without a spouse. (This is not easy to do, but comes in time as we grow in relationship with God) There is tremendous internal freedom once you reach this point. Ask God to direct you to someone who is at this place as well. In a nutshell I hope this helps answer your question.

I have a friend who was married and divorced 3 times before I got married. At the time it seemed women would flock to him and flock away from me. Before I really have no desire for marriage because my focus was to serve God, help my family and be successful in my career. The timing you describe is too insane to be just luck. On top of this, the best, longest lasting marriages are rooted in deep, close friendship, with incredibly easy conversations. So consider discussing what life would be like as a couple. Can you agree on kids, and how to raise them? Bad experiences with many so called single "church women" over the majority of my life thus far. Haven't been back to a church's singles ministry in years because of it. Been through many trials, but now in mid-40s, I'm not placing anymore elevated hope in God's selection of a mate although I've been given "prophesies" of a wife being prepared for me. Forget that. Made my peace with God in being content with remaining a bachelor for the rest of my natural life and enjoying the peace, quiet and freedom it brings!! If God brings her then He will let me know. I was contacted by an old friend from 20 years ago from church who was in my same circle of friends. I married one of the friends in our group 20 years gone by I am divorced to his friend because he was not the o ne my ex was a false man who played a spiritual person and soon enough our marriage problems has been exposed. He was not the man I thought he was now take count that when I met my ex I was a baby Christian and trusted him instead of trusted God. Our marriage was not right things God knew that I needed to get out from but I stalled thinking God could change him. He didn’t want God to change him he was satisfied of who he was so he left. Now a year later after our separation almost divorce completed my past friend of 20 years reaches out to talk and later down the line tells me that he always felt I was the one that he let slip away because he wasn’t aggressive enough and the timing wasn’t right. We began long distance dating. I was in Florida and he still lived where I lived once. Time went by and we fell for eachother it was a soulmate connection and we couldn’t get enough of eachother. We would spend endless time talking on the phone. After 11 months we decided to come closer so we could start to date like normal people do. So I moved closer since I had family not to far away from where he lived but it was still 3.5 hours away. We met up a couple of times and I saw in us that we had to much hurt still in from our pats lives that even if we wanted to be together it wasn’t the right time. God wanted to heal us both since we both had 20 years of baggage to heal from. I couldn’t see it and couldn’t or wouldn’t understand it I was stubborn and thought he was tricking me to call it quits after so much passion and caring and everything he did for me when I was stuck trying to get on my feet. I took it for granted I pray for him because he is with great past issues from childhood they needs healing AB di I’m getting over still from my past 20 year painful marriage but I know that this man is probably the one but we need healing, we haven’t spoken in a while and my heart can’t stop thinking about him. So I wfm for prayers please for guidance from God. This man of my past that I care deeply for had changed my life to make it right again with Jesus my savior. I pray that we both get the healing we need and that one day Gods will maybe be together the way it should be. Thank you 🙏🏼

Honestly (in my experience) some homeschool and Christian groups put too much pressure on people wanting to be friends before dating. Older people, just because we're talking doesn't mean we want to date. We don't know eachother well enough to answer that. And men, stop being afraid of women calling you our friend. It's ok to be in the friend zone sometimes. We need to make sure that you are a safe person that we like before we date you.

I had been praying for God to bring me a husband for 7 years. I don’t know how or where to begin, but there is a man that has been going to my church for a while, with his son. Well I would greet him every time I saw him, and I started to like him, but I didn’t know whether he felt the same for me, because he wouldn’t show me any signs he liked me or wanted to get to know me. And also I didn’t know whether he was separated or what, so I just left the matter alone. The month of April was extremely rough for me because my aunt passed away and also someone who I really fell in love with led me on and decided not to continue talking so that was a hard blow for me. But I also took it that God was removing that roadblock. So that made me want to swear off men for a while and just get closer to God. So one Thursday night, I was watching Bible Study from our church in FB live and I notice he was online but I didn’t have him on my FB page, so I recognized him and I decided to send him a FB request, he instantly accepted and he immediately sent me a message, which I did not expect at all. And little by little we started talking, getting to know one another, what completely shocked me was I had absolutely no idea that he was indeed interested in me the whole time he had been attending my church! He explained everything that’s happened to him in the past and he also said to me “ I thought you were married and had kids” so he felt apprehensive in approaching me.... “so I said, “if I was, I would have been sitting next to my husband” lol.... but he wouldn’t have known that because I sat in the back and he sat in the front with his son. So we started asking each other questions and one question I asked him was, “ so did you pray for God to show you who you will marry? And he said, “ well I have prayed, I prayed for 6 years in my home for God to bring woman into my life..... so this all happened without me expecting it at all, and I had no idea whatsoever he was interested in me all this time.....so long story short, we haven’t gone out on a date yet because the virus has been spiking ip more every day, but it will be 3 months that we are talking, and I feel great about it.... he’s a praying warrior like me, so that is amazing to me..... but so far so good!

While I can’t speak directly for God, the best, most stable, longest lasting relationships are rooted as close friendships first and foremost. That sounds like what you have, here. If from there, you can agree on kids, handling in laws, spending habits, and how your life goals are compatible, together, only then going physical wouldn’t be the worst thing.

There was a man i think who'm might be interested in me. I've noticed him for some years now and been seeing him at the supermarket many times, wherever i was in the supermarket, there he was... one time i had shortage of money to pay at the cashregister, there he was to pay the different by putting money in the counter... who would do that? He tried to connect with me couple of times but i suppose we were both too shy to REALLY connect and invite one another for a cup of coffee somewhere. I haven't seen him for a while now, though he has crossed my path many times. I appreciate you mentioning divorce. Specifically people that should not look down on others for getting divorced for there are biblical Reasons why individuals are divorced. And some people fought very hard for their marriage but this ideology unfortunately arising in this I'm not happy so let me find it somewhere else. I know for a lot of people a divorced individual is not a 1st runner up... But I would like to say is that to give some of these individuals a chance hear their side of the story. Okay I'm a 16yo Christian girl and this is my story with a boy I feel like God is telling me I need to talk to every day and that it may be my possible future husband. I met him over a year ago when I was in a pretty dark time. I was talking to people I shouldn't be and wasn't really all that interested in him. At that point I had gotten further away from God so I wasn't really all that interested in him. I didn't feel a spark like it was God urging me to talk to him or anything. I did say hi and shake his hand but that was it. So fast forward to like 8 months ago. I'm on the road to being a Christian and finding God again. I went to youth group one night and he was making sure people weren't leaving if their parents weren't there. I was actually going out to cry outside because of how depressed I was. But he stopped me from going outside and we ended up having a small conversation. That actually made me feel so much better and I didn't end up crying that night. I felt like there was something there but still, I wasn't feeling these strong urges. Fast forward a couple months. We had talked, a couple times, waved, and smiled at each other every time we went to church. We haven't talked much lately, but he has said bye and hi to me every time I come into the youth room on Wednesdays. That's not because of him, bc I feel like he wants to have a conversation, but I have social anxiety I'm trying to get over. So I'm pretty bad at having conversations and my anxiety levels go up when I try to talk to him. I think being nervous when talking to a crush is pretty normal. But anyways, recently I've been feeling these CRAZY urges to talk to him. I'm 99 percent sure it's God but still. I know I need to have more faith but it can be hard. Two weeks ago at youth group he just said bye to me as usual and I literally cannot even explain the urge to talk to him as I was walking away. My PHYSICAL heart literally stopped and hurt. I took a step back bc I had just walked by him to go back, but my anxiety of course prevented me from actually talking to him. I feel awful about it bc I'm POSITIVE that time was God. There's no denying it. I don't think my brain would make my entire body hot, force me to take a step back, and make my heart pound and hurt to go talk to him. The problem is too, I constantly worry about him not liking me back because I am considered fat. I'm confident in myself and I think I'm pretty but like what if he just doesn't like larger girls. Can any Christian women give me some advice? I'd ask my mom but shes pretty difficult... one time I just suggested having a crush on someone and she got weird about it and I backed away and said I didn't like anyone at all. I now know I have feelings for this boy. The fact that he came into my life at a low point makes me think it may be God. I've talked about it with God and prayed about it. He's given me dreams of a wedding with him (at least, I think it was God because I hadn't thought of the boy before bed) again, can any Christian woman give me some advice? Tysm

I have a big question that I’ve been wondering about. How does God help people with disorders in their life especially when it comes to relationships? I’m a person who has Asperger Syndrome, ADHD, and anxiety, and sometimes I wonder how God works in my life and who it is he has planned for me to spend the rest of my life with. I’m not really good at interacting because of my Asperger Syndrome and I feel like God wants me to be with someone despite my lack of social skills.

God helps all Christians the same way, by his Spirit, the church, prayer, and through helping them apply the word to their life. Of course we all have different variables, for you that being Asperger Syndrome, but I encourage you to keep learning the word and seeking to apply it to your life by learning it through the necessary methods that work best for you :)

I’m in the same boat, having both an atypical form of Asperger’s and ADD. I just got into a relationship with someone who, funny enough, has the almost same exact thing. I think an important thing is that, despite our conditions, we both believe that God wants us in relationships. I had to learn to trust, pray, and be patient in God’s timing, as well as watching to see how someone acts around you that you think may likes you. Having a strong friendship first is important, and then very slowly easing into it without making the other person feel uncomfortable is the other thing I would suggest. Good luck, and God bless! Annika Asplund I’ve actually been able to ease into a friendship without making someone uncomfortable. Even though I have never met anybody else with Asperger’s, I have met a couple of people who think and behave a bit like me without having Asperger Syndrome. I’m pretty sure God is trying to set me up with someone who can help me with my lack of social skills and be a better person than I already am. Thank you for the advice btw.

So I have been friends with this person online who lives 4 hours away in the neighboring state for 8 months and we quickly became good friends. I did not expect this to happen at all, it was a blessing. As I got to know her more I told her that I liked her and wanted to see where God leads. Turns out we are on the same page and we have been talking for 4-5 months now. I had plans to go visit but I wasn't able to go and then she decides to come visit me in person. She did her best to come over for the weekend and meet me which was really nice of her. It was a very fruitful time. But then she stopped talking to me and she told me that she isn't feeling good and is sorry that we she can't talk. We haven't really talked for a month now. I don't know what to do because there is no one near me who I talk to a lot and connect/communicate very well with. I also don't want to just move on quickly because I want to see what God's plan is for us. The second and last sign is what I have noticed in this friendship. I can't say the other things are present because she lives far away. Any biblical suggestions?

Okay, now I'm just confused and frustrated... It feels like God is highlighting a girl at my job. But we never really get the chance to talk. We run into each other all the time. In her department they take turns going out to lunch. So she almost never leaves at the same time and I run into her almost every time. I decided to look around at other churches and ended up at her's. I seen her while shopping. Still all we ever get to do is say, hi. Never having a real conversation. I'm getting really frustrated. cherishdeb I didn’t mean ONLY PRAY..lol I just meant make sure God is spear heading this and he’s listening to his spirit to pursue her. Guidance from our father is number one. Then if he feels he’s getting the green light, he will know. Trust me. My fiancé pursued me once he got the green light from the Lord THEN he used his faith and reached out to me to date. You are right. Faith workout works is dead. Just make sure your faith and works are going in the right direction.
