I just got a remote help desk job with no experience in IT. I recently graduated from WGU with a Bachelors in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. I have CompTIA certs ranging from A+ to PenTest+ along with 2 cybersecurity projects on my resume. I plan to stay here for a year and move on, hopefully the job market is better then.

Thank you for mentioning the google cert that was very helpful to hear in this video! I think this is one of my favorite videos- great outline of points and advice! Love that you mentioned to have two separate resumes! Makes a lot of sense. I have been looking at my local libraries for the COMP TIA book to read, but they do not have it, is there another good place to read up on it? And do you have an example of an IT portfolio in your videos? I understand an artist's portfolio as that is what I studied, but visually not sure what an IT portfolio is. Great content as always! I did it in person. I don't like doing it at home. Too many distractions and you can get disqualified easily. You have to register in Pearson.

I am also wondering as I have been reading up on LinkedIN headlines, if you're studying for the COMP TIA, in essence being a student and trying to get into IT, how do you present that on your LinkedIN profile, is it wrong to say "aspiring student studying IT?" Or is there a better way to phrase it?

Customer service experience does help when it comes to working IT Support/Helpdesk. If you have a solid resume with some nice project works using homelab you may be able to land a job with those job titles I just mentioned.
