Applying Loctite 620 to a Kawasaki triple crankshaft

In this video, I show the proper method to apply Loctite 620 to a crankshaft prior to installing it into the crankcase. While centering the labyrinth seal I accidentally referred to a dial indicator. I meant to say feeler gauge. This method is used with rubber sealed crankshafts as well. You do not need to center nor apply Loctite to the rubber seal FYI. They are pretty much “plug and play”.

Interesting, I have a Triumph 650 I am rebuilding, and my main bearing just fell of the crank upon disassembly. Mechanic wanted to knurl the crank, but I am thinking adding some 620 as well as knurling the crank. Do you think 620 i strong enough to hold the inner bearing races to the crank?

Yes. Better than knurling. Knurling provides about a 50% surface area to hold the bearings. Loctite 620 gives 100% surface area. A good machinist should know never to use knurling for any type of press fit.
