I was 11 when i heard about this in a documentary from the person who named the method. At the time i was on preventitve and rescue meds for asthma. I did this method and never needed them again

I can confirm that if I don’t have my inhaler one thing I can do is doing your method of only breathing through my nose, holding my breath until I feel a slightly strong urge for air, breathing in shallowly through my nose… it takes a little while, but without failure I can feel my airways opening up, coughing out more phlegm… and I just calm down in general as well.

Should we also do this when we don't have symptoms, to prevent flare ups?

Yes, practising daily breathing exercises will help.

Hey mate, enjoyed your video. If I consistently practice the buteyko method, do you think it'll help increase my VO2 max and overall physical fitness?
