That's a great collection of tools after only 5 months. You can save a lot of money shopping at swap meets, flea markets and estate sales.

I recommend an impact screwdriver, I’m a diesel tech in the rust belt and I use it frequently for pretty much any screw that isn’t a hex head. Good start, a lot cleaner than my box lol

I actually have one 5:38 but I didn’t point it out. Luckily in the west coast we don’t have too much rust 😅. Still new to the trade so not too much wear on the tools, just yet... hehe preciate the advice.

SOLID setup! Your flee markets sound amazing compared to the ones in my area. I chuckled at the vacuum, but if it works, then awesome! Thanks for sharing.

No way! Inspired by yourself! Thanks man, I got my bluepoint mirror thanks to your videos haha, and my vacuum was a handy down from my grandpa :)

Lookin' good for less than a year! I thought you were gonna say a couple years or somethin'. I wasn't anything near that when I started. I been in this biz for about 50 (on and off). We all have different paths to take I guess. 👍

Thank you 👊🏽 I plan to do this for a career for awhile so it’s all an “investment” ;)

I'm coming up on 10 years and over 70% of my tools are off the trucks. And to be honest the only things that I find worth it are snap on ratchets and Mac anti vibe hammers. Other than snap on 90% of the other truck brand tools are rebranded. Quality tools are well worth the money but go right to the source. Lang, lisle and mayhew are all good USA companies

Lisle is good! I’ll look into Lang and the Mac Anti vibe hammers 👊🏽

Been doing this professionally for almost 8 years now, and I agree. I do like the matco ratchets as well. If you want battery tools go with Milwaukee. Never have had any of mine fail. Other than cordless ratchets I prefer air powered. I guess that does depend on your shop layout and air hose availability, plus line pressure.

@fixingCanoe the Mac anti vibe and Stanley Proto hammers are the same and darn near the same cost, and not very often you warranty a hammer so just depends on what logo you want on your hammer. only buy the steel hammer though, the dead blows aren't great. For a dead blows the best is snap on but for the price the best made in USA is tekton

You need some 1/4 impact swivel sockets. I used my 1/4 m12 electric ratchet more than my 3/8 long neck. Only time my 3/8 comes out is when I’m doing spark plugs.
@fixingCanoe9 күн бұрын
I’ve been using both all the time, and haven’t seen the need for impact. I have chrome 1/4 swivels

Very nice set up for the time you have in. I would think about upgrading the box in the very near future. I would advise to buy a box bigger than you think you need at the rate you are growing. Good luck!
@fixingCanoe13 күн бұрын
Appreciate it man, yes a new box is on my list (I just upgraded to this box recently) I do work in a small shop so it’s tuff find a box that fits.

Well done. BTW, check out the Cornwell truck's BOGO on 3/8 this month. For $175 you get an awesome full set of both chrome and impact. p.s. One ding: Black tool boxes are a BITCH to keep clean and shiny. When you upgrade to a large tool box compare the colors of the other techs and see which ones look the best all the time.

Unfortunately there’s no Cornwell truck at my shop :( I’ve owned a black car so I know the struggle hahah! I just didn’t want a bling bling box, I figured black would be more nonchalant.
