The icon ratcheting wrenches are my favorite wrenches. I have been abusing them for about 2 years with daily use with zero issues. Most icon tools are legit. Some are crap.

I’ve been buying a few icons recently, what would you recommend staying away from?

@@eve__________ The extractors, those are a rebrand, made in china, they aren't coming out of the Kabo plant in Taiwan like the other stuff. They can get studs and bolts out but you'll only get a couple uses out of each piece. and I've had several break on me. If you just need something disposable and quick to extract a broken bolt and they're on sale they're okay but stick to the smaller cheaper set. the bigger kit ain't worth it. The Wrenches are good, Ratchets are decent if you swap the grease out for something like assembly lube or a thick gear oil and polish the inside of the head with a dremel and polish the paw and gear in a vibratory tumbler or dremel(cuts the backdrag down considerably) Their Pliers are good. The Larger pick set ain't worth the full price IMO either. The Screwdrivers, Nutdrivers, and Hex Keys also aren't worth it either imo. I'd also stay away from the Tap and Die set. IMO the Wrenches, Ratchets, Torque Wrenches, Sockets, Pliers and shop tools( ball joint press, caliper press, etc) are really where it's at. If you shop harbor freight when it comes to the other things I mentioned It's just stick to the pittsburgh or doyle equivalent. The Doyle screw drivers are pretty sweet.

Nice video! As a lube tech, I’ve been buying a lot of icon tools. I recently bought a brake service kit from harbor freight. My personal favorite icon tools are the swivel ratchets on 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch, because when I get bolts loose I can do a screwdriver technique and it gets the job done faster. I never had any problems at all from them and I will always buy more icon tools and recommend to anyone 😁

When the guys talk about the matco deep swivels and the tech says the rings start spinning. The older snapon swivels have rings on them and when a random swivel of mine started doing that the snapon man replaced it under warranty. The rings purpose was to lock the pin in place of the swivel
