Tatum and I took the boat to dry storage to get ready for the boating season. We also did some recon on the launch at Bull Frog.

So sad. Dangling rope was a nice place to stop. Doesn’t sound like there a plans to keep the lake at higher levels anytime soon.

Nice video. I see the gas prices are less money there than they are in Southern California. I was last at Bullfrog in 1981 when the lake was full. I was at Wahweap in 2019 and 2021. It’s sad to see how much water is gone/wasted on unsustainable development and irrigation of crops that shouldn’t be grown in arid climates.
@teambrowns41232 жыл бұрын
Oh, interesting… I didn’t know the prices were that high in CA. Makes sense though seems everything is more expensive. For us in Utah, Bullfrog is definitely high.

@@teambrowns4123 I paid $5.79 at Sinclair for 87 Octane here in So Cal on Monday. For comparison, I paid $5.30 for 87 Octane at Costco on Maui last Friday. California prices for everything are way out of hand. Inflation in California has to be running close to 30%.

The South West and CA got 2 choice, fix or keep the water problem! CA got 85,9 m acre foot, Coloumbia river dumps 191,3 m foot into The Pasific every year. Move some water (10%). Make a 365m long tunnel from Red Bluff (Delaware Aqueduct tunnel is 86 miles). NV, AZ, Mexico can then keep more Colorado water (5 million acree feet a year).
@teambrowns41232 жыл бұрын
Wow! You know your stuff! I think you’re onto something! Usage from CA is the problem. From what I hear at least.

What's the state gas tax in Utah ? Are those gas prices same all around Utah or just around Lake Powell ?
@teambrowns41232 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure exactly what the gas tax rate is, but by my house in the Salt Lake area, gas price is about $4.75-$5.00 per gallon. So Lake Powell is definitely much higher than normal prices.
@steffenrosmus91772 жыл бұрын
Ans you think your gas prices of $ 3.75 - 4.02 per gallon are high. Top price here in Europe was 2,56 € per litre which is $ 9.78 per gallon.

Great video man. We’re you able to launch your boat on this day when you did the drive around?
@teambrowns41232 жыл бұрын
I didn’t make the attempt. The thought crossed my mind briefly before realizing that Tatum couldn’t legally drive the boat or the truck. 😆 it would make it a little more possible if they would have had a dock to tie off to.

Yeah, something needs to change on their end of it. Water usage and water rights need to tighten up. Thanks for the great comment!
@BackyardBeeKeepingNuevo2 жыл бұрын
You can’t “conserve” your way out of this on the backs of residential users. The farmers use over 75% of the water from the river. Irrigation methods need to change and thirsty crops like cotton, alfalfa and almonds need to stop being grown in the desert.

The problem is not the grapes. It’s the almonds, alfalfa and cotton. The three crops that require the most water and are grown in California.
@jmn930652 жыл бұрын
@@BackyardBeeKeepingNuevo Grapes are located in Northern California near Napa, the Almonds are grown mostly in Central California and the water comes from Lake Oroville.
