A tip I just now learned, you can also use acetone if you don’t have an e-file or don’t feel like pulling the e-file out! The acetone also helps the nail adhere probably even better than etching does too!

Thank you! So back when I did this set I did but now I’ve noticed it doesn’t make a difference whether I either apply no gel on my natural nail and just go in with the extension, or apply gel to nn-cure then apply extension or apply gel to nn and immediately go in with the extension without curing the nn first. If you have problems with lifting or not applying the right pressure or amount of gel though, then I’d probably keep applying the gel to the nn and curing before adding the extension. Hope that helps

I dont use polygel, but with practice I'm sure you'll get the hang of it! I have seen people use both the forms and tips as well as apply apres tips with polygel.

If you want to polish before applying, you’d have to use a very clear polish in order for the light to penetrate through the polish and still be able to cure the gel

Not anymore, I just apply them straight away. I do it on 50% of my clients. I don’t find it makes much of a difference and with my nails especially, they last forever no matter what

I'm having problems with the gel adhering to the false nail. once my nails are applied and I start shaping(filling) them, the false nail pops off and in left with an overlay of gel on my natural nails. not sure what I'm doing wrong, any suggestions?

Are you etching the underside of the extension before applying? I etch and prime them. Also make sure it’s not too tight/small. If you’re inbetween sizes, always go bigger and file down to fit your natural nail.

Are you not priming your natural nail? I don’t know of anything else you could use besides primer. I just use the same primer that I use on my natural nail, on the extension also. Young nails protein bond works great.

If you follow all the same steps and make sure there’s no air bubbles when applying them, they shouldn’t pop off. Also make sure they are sized correctly. Should fit sidewall to sidewall not bigger or smaller. If you’re in between sizes, go up and file it to fit your nail exactly. Young nails protein bond also helps a lot to adhere them.
