On the topic of doing crossovers with other youtube channels. While there are some great channels out there creating some great content that I'd love to see you work with. Part of the reason I like InRange is that it's different. You guys have managed to keep yourselves out of the giant youtube gun channel circle jerk and I find that refreshing.

@Karl Big thanks for replying to my response! It answered pretty much everything I wanted to know about your choice of an AR15 for High Power. To explain my parenthetical: since 7.62 and 5.56 are both supersonic rounds, they are moving faster than their shockwave through the air. Because 5.56 is a lighter round with less energy behind it (although I don't know about the relative aerodynamics of the rounds), it slows down to subsonic sooner than the 7.62 round and "hits" the shockwave trailing it through the air, which throws it off its trajectory and causes all sorts of interesting things. From what I read, this happened for most 5.56 loads around 600 yards, which is why I mentioned it in my comment. Still though, big thanks for answering!

I believe you are talking about transonic effects. It would be a good subject for the long range series.

Reloading a pistol one-handed is usually much easier when you can put the pistol back in the holster. Whether stooping over to put the pistol between your knees, presenting a smaller target, but then requiring more time to stand back up is an advantage or disadvantage probably depends on the situation and available cover.

I think the niche for bullpups is mostly very short 5.56 rifles or any chambering(5.45 and 5.7 come to mind) that relies more heavily on projectile velocity over mass for its terminal effects. You get to keep the barrel length while reducing overall, but you still have the weight of that barrel. In my opinion if you want a short, rifle caliber weapon, I think you're better off shooting heavier+slower slugs out of shorter barrels, with faster burning charges.(.300blk anyone? :] ) Less barrel = less weight, and better ergonomics. I do have to admit that I think for a military, an 18" barrel bullpup 5.56 rifle makes sense. It's incredibly flexible for different engagement distances, mobile when door kicking, easy transport, etc.

Oh, cool. I did not expect a response, it was mostly a joke, but I do find it interesting that in both communities the idea that practicing by oneself is a tough thing to combat. Do you study a particular manuscript or have you just heard of HEMA? Thanks for the response!

No offense to Full30 but they are way behind the curve. Buggy video playback across platforms, no app support (not entirely their fault) and it's just clunky to use. I get that KZbin/Google is currently the evil mega corp trope on independent video content, but they have the infrastructure and a huge built in audience. When you add in that most users watch more than just firearm content on KZbin--it's a one stop shop. I get what Full30 is doing and I have an account but I can't remember the last time I logged in or used full30.

In regards to the bullpup question I would offer that Bullpups are not going out of style as new companies and countries are making new bullpups and upgrading old ones. Desert Tech has built a reputation on Bullpup firearms. Radom makes the MSBS used by polish military. Australia has the 'new' Enhanced F88 used by Australian military. The French Famas is 40 years old and the AUG New Zeland is using is behind the EF88 generationally. New bullpups are still being developed. As to their infantry adoptions that is more a political and financial question.

The French and New Zealanders dropped the AUG and the FAMAS because those rifles are, regardless of being bullpup or not, just shittier than the AR. That's it. They're a lot less 'modable' and 'customizable than the AR, which is the primary reason I think. Triggers can be fixed, so i don't think its that. Something like an AR but just in a bullpup form would be picked over the standard AR 8/10 times I think.

Love your Q&As, just wish you wouldn't use "OCD" as a metaphor for meticulousness. People who actually struggle with mental illnesses like OCD/ADHD don't appreciate when they're used in this way. It implies that everyone deals with these problems and belittles the affect it has on our lives. I have ADHD myself and it makes me cringe every time someone neurotypical talks about "[their] ADD acting up" every time they get mildly forgetful or distracted. Of course, if you actually do have OCD then it's yours to own and talk about. I just feel like a lot of people don't even consider the problems caused by using these mental illnesses they don't actually have as metaphors for normal life experiences. OCD/ADHD are not a picnic for those that suffer from them.
