I love how patient and calm you are with your knitting, I often get too keen to finish things and forget to enjoy the process. Thank you for reminding me to take it slow! 💕

Lovely sweater! Suggestion on the ribbing --- instead of a regular knit, try a twisted knit -- knit in the back of the needle instead of the front. I used to do a regular knit but, like what happened to you, the ribbing didn't look very neat. I saw a video on the twisted knit which provides a neater ribbing. So, do a twisted knit and then a regular purl for your 1x1 ribbing.

I loved your video! My first but I will watch others, I am sure. I recently knit the April and made the same decision about the bind off. It gives flexibility to change and it gives more structure, I think. Love your color, your changes to the ribbing and the button band. Now I need to make another! That color is gorgeous on you. I hope you enjoy your lovely new cardigan. 😊

I did a free online color analysis on my skin and hair color to help choose the best colours that suits me. This helped me so much by avoiding certain colours that are not in my color palettes, therefore saving tons of money on buying yarns that I will not wear in the future. Love your videos 💓

I did that too actually!! and try to follow it as it indeed helps to save money and avoid disappointments! but this red yarn was bought before that haha thank you for watching! 💕

I believe the ribbing issue is due to the fact that purls use more yarn than knits (which is why inside out in the round looks better too). Likely when you were a new knitter your tension wasn't as "even" which meant your knits also used more yarn making it look even. I agree with trying a twist, but I find that half twisted rib makes it look much better and saves some time over full twisted rib. Your April Cardigan is beautiful with the 2x2 and double knit! :)

thanks for watching and for your suggestion!! I will try half twisted rib ☺️

Separating those strands is an incredible amount of work. You're so patient. I knit my ribbing (when knitting flat) in combination. It makes both knits and purls equal AND it makes the continental purling faster. Andrea Mowry has a video on it: "Combination Knitting: Knit Flat using Continental Style" I really like the "knit with me" format, too. Thank you

This cardigan is just so so beautiful! I love this juicy red colour and it suits you very well! I also think, that modification you have done with ribbing is a great modernization of the pattern! I generally agree, 1x1 rib sucks a lot and often wonky. But i also found out that the wonkiness of the rib depends a lot on the yarn. Surprisingly for me, my neatest rib was done with 3 euro per skin Drops Karisma yarn 😅 Since then i always give a chance of not a high top popular yarns
@kniteryna7 ай бұрын
thanks for watching!! I do agree in the ribbing/yarn type part, I think the more dense the fabric os in general, the easier it is to achieve a neater ribbing and some yarns are just born for ribbing 😅 and less expensive yarns for sure deserve a chance!!!

I have a tip for tidy ribbing. After a purl following a knit give the yarn a tug before knitting the next stitch.
@kniteryna7 ай бұрын
thanks! I always try to do that and it helps but not always unfortunately

I find that ribbing is always wonky, but once you block it, it comes out perfect.
