Well sure, but he spent far too much time with Tom who was a bad influence. Plus the Kim from our universe died and was resurrected in another dimension. Then that kim died and was replaced by another Kim from a parallel universe who attacked the prime timeline Voyager and that Kim was killed and replaced by the one from the other crew. However we don't even know if the prime timeline exists anymore now that we have the unfortunate Kelvin timeline.

If those were only half as eventful as the first seven, that's an impact on the Delta and Beta quadrants. I do think the Doctor's character is a very strong one in Voyager - so many questions. Essentially the Doctor is immortal, his wife would be aging and he would be the same. He can also change his appearance at whim, and his programme has both genius and the potential for alteration (ie. significant existential ones) as time goes on - what stories are yet to be told? How will his wife find him? Will he change to suit her? Will she adapt to him? So many stories to be told!

@@RaiderDave-xe1pn to be fair, the end of voyager and the start of S:TP are by completely different companies so it's effectively a sub-contracted spin-off universe. @AltoStratusX1
@AltoStratusX1 4 жыл бұрын
@Eliza V the prime timeline technically is the timeline without Admiral Janeways intervention that we saw in the final episode of Voyager. Since she went back and changed the outcome all future Star Trek plots basically occur in this new timeline. Since 7 of 9 is absent in this scene and present in ST:Picard we can assume that train wreck of a show occurs in the shitty non prime universe that Voyagers meddling created. I like to think the last we saw of the "Prime" timeline was our TNG crewmembers sitting down to a poker game while the majestic Enterprise D sails off into a bright hopeful galaxy. Or maybe the Root Beer conversation between Quark and Garak. Back when Trek could be dark and edgy while at the same time being well written and compelling. Not dark and edgy like that kid who smoked in high school and swears just because. Like seriously, "Please my friends choose to live." Kurtzman sucks. Sell it to McFarlane already.

Part of that is probably just the fact that it's the same actors with old person makeup. But also the human life expectancy in Star Trek is well over 100. Some even live past 150. So I have to assume there's some medical advances that's also helping them stay younger for longer.

Well, I agree that Voyager had good moments, it also had horrendous moments and I'm not the only one who felt this ending was SUPER rushed. It should've been built up and shouldn't have involved this alternate timeline stuff. Also, the fact that we didn't get an extra episode of them arriving home to Starfleet HQ was just pretty frustrating. This finale was extremely rushed, and unfortunately this show could've been much more. If they had made Voyager look like the Equinox it would have been the best series in Star Trek, but bad writers unfortunately.

No one ever mentions how fresh, hip and sexy Voyager was at the start. Launching right after Next Gen's conclusion during a manic period of great enthusiasm, optimism and economic prosperity. We felt invincible in those days. It was less heavy and more fun than its predecessor, with a glamorous romantic sensibility. During the heinous Bush era I felt Janeway's tone was growing desperately compassionate, unreasonably defending the welfare of all sentient beings. When the Occident sank to it lowest possible depth in 2008, I lost all faith in Roddenberry's Star Trek vision and now have no interest in anything future series have to say.

I kinda liked how Voyager had everyone home ALREADY at START of the series finale. The episode talked about the tragedies endured to get them home then Janeway goes BACK in time to correct her BAD decisions and save the lives of crew members. I believe that Janeway felt DEEP regret about her initial choice about stranding Voyager in the DELTA Quadrant by helping to destroy The Caretaker NO matter what everyone said. This poignant beginning of the series finale helped setup the two part conclusion.

These "future" combadges have been consistently used in many episodes of Voyager and TNG that took place in the future, and now them being in Star Trek Picard makes them actually canon, and not just a possible or alternate future. Those (God awful) uniforms were also used in several future episodes. Both the new combadges and these uniforms and the Picard uniforms are absolutely awful and ugly. They should have stuck with the DS9/VOY/TNG movies combadges and the gray & black uniforms from the later seasons of DS9 and later TNG movies. But no, Starfleet is apparently even worse than the US Army at changing uniforms every couple of years... 🙄

It's always amazing how fast kids grow up in Star Trek. I mean at least Alexander has the excuse of being part Klingon to explain how the hell he's an angsty teen serving aboard a Bird of Prey _at the chronological age of 8,_ but there's gotta be something _real_ funky in O'Brien DNA to explain how Molly went from baby to toddler so quickly. I mean, she was born in the sixth season of TNG, O'Brien moved to DS9 at around the seventh season of TNG, and they only really started showing Molly a few years into DS9.
