It's such a great pleasure as a 57 year old to see the younger generation keeping great music alive! I was around 16 years old when I saw this band in Buffalo, to this day it was one of the best concerts of my life! Thanks guys for letting me relive one of the best musical experiences of my life! "I Like to Rock" and "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" are also hits by April Wine. This is one of my favorites from them. Being 53, they were big in the 1970s and a lot of fun, a pre-cursor to 80s hair bands. They toured a year or two ago and I almost went and saw them. I really should have. What is really cool is they invented this stuff. What may sound ordinary today, was even more cool back then because no one had done anything like it before. Glad to see and hear you guys pick up on their sound today with so many choices of music to find this gem and appreciate it! Well done 502 - April Wine was not a one hit wonder - try "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" or "I Like to Rock" (The official vids will give you a look at the hairy bastards - it is a time capsule) they also have quite a few slower songs and ballads too. Older Americans living nearer to Canada will be familiar with bands like April Wine, Triumph, Prism, The Tragically Hip, The Guess Who, and B.T.O. (Bachman Turner Overdrive) - Enjoy gentleman.

I agree with the comments that April Wine are definitely a highly underrated rock band. next you really need to check out the song “I Like to Rock” which showcases some of their triple guitar attack. also, a hidden gem of theirs which has the best play on words EVER would be “If You See Kay”.

Their video for "Just Between You and Me" was one of the first played on the first day MTV was on the air in 1981.

Glad you guys enjoyed this old gem. It was always on the radio in Canada. You'd hear it at roller rinks and high school dances and such from the 70s and 80s.

The reason that you haven't heard this song before is because when it came out in the 70's it was just another song, albeit a great song. It was just one of the many other great songs from great bands and over the years the music changed to the point where this became a unique sound never heard before. If I were you guys I would be so pissed off at having to go back nearly half a century to find music like this. Grandpa's music!

While the guitars are up front Jerry Mercer was in the driver seat on the drums , one of the unsung great rock drummers . Seen them 3 times in the early 80's and they were outstanding every time , Jerry was the bonus for me , he put on an outstanding performance each time. Check out " Hot On The Wheels of Love " one of my favorites by April Wine .
