wow, it has the same CVT/constant velocity transmission that practically every scooter in the world has had for decades, and snowmobile’s. Not to mention the very successful Suzuki 406, 50 Burgman scooters., as well as many cars like the Honda My wife drives SUV

4:32 I’d argue that perfectly healthy experienced riders would find this perfect for inner city riding and/or commuting.

Why do people assume that having automatic car or bike you have a disability, I don't have any disabilities I just don't see the point in gear changes, I just want to ride with out messing around with stupid gear leavers and pedals. Also I don't know why people have to bring experience and sex in to the equation of bikes and riding. Riding automatic or manual bike has nothing to do with whats between your legs or how many year you been riding. lets get ride of this stigma around transmission and engine size.
@amp2amp8007 жыл бұрын
Stigma? Respectfully. I lost a hand and a leg on a bike ten years ago. I have nothing but abilities! The simple answer to your question is that they have a unique "disability" - namely not having a clue. Don't feel lonely. Most fully able bodied people I meet suffer from huge limitations, the greatest of which is not recognizing their own unchallenged stupidity. I mean that without any rancour. Ride hard, keep safe!

I bought mine partly because I've had left foot trouble in the past, and partly because I just don't enjoy shifting.

Well said 100% agreed. Just look at the new Africa Twin as an example. Nothing about that bike is for inexperienced or handicapped riders.

You could still shift it your way or auto. So cool. Clutch means room for errors. New DCT's are great as well

The commenter who stated the narrator's translation of "Mana" as not meaning "hand" is correct. The word is a latin suffix with a hazy reference to the English word, "sevenfold" -- probably a reference to the 7 ratios available in sport mode, and a way to drive home the key difference between the Mana and a typical CVT scooter. The road tester has a limited grasp of the kind of rider who would be attracted to the Mana. Besides newbies, who start on this bike to work their way "up" to a manual trans moto, and riders with physical problems, there are those like me, who never liked shifting a motorcycle, and have been waiting for someone to make this kind of cycle. I love to ride, but I seldom put more than 2,000 miles on a bike in a season. I have stalled in an intersection with cars coming up behind me. I have downshifted by mistake in a curve, or missed a shift entirely (which is one way pro racers wipe out). Those things are NOT fun. Some of us are thrilled with the feeling of leaning a bike into a curve, hitting the throttle and working the brakes, but find a standard shift gets in the way of being in the zone. Too many ways for human error to put one in a bad situation. I was riding behind a friend on his Victory cruiser a few years ago and he missed a shift at low speed on a bump in a curve, and down he went. Not for me. As far as sizing is concerned, I just bought a Mana from a gent who was 6'2". I am 5'7" with a 29-30" inseam. When I got on the bike, I felt too short-- I couldn't flat-foot and had to reach for the bars, feeling it a bit in my lower back. As soon as I got underway, all those concerns evaporated. The bike is so well balanced that getting toes down at a stop is all you need. And it is so effortless to ride, with such an analog power delivery that you are free to enjoy cornering, stopping and accelerating-- and scenery, too! It's like piloting a jet. Ever heard a top gun complain of not having a gear shift in her/his F-15?

What is the MPG you are getting, mostly in city. Do you have any issues with the bike, something with the CVT?

What is the MPG. How the bike compares to Honda nc700/750x?

I like how the commentator sounds like he's explaining the transmission to children, in a child-like voice.

For a couple of years I've been thinking about getting a Mana but the one concern I had, was if a taller person could comfortably ride it. You answered my question is this video. I'M TOO TALL! I'm 6'3" and I'd look like squatting like a frog on it.

Hooverdarnit you can compare it with what you are used to on this site

Overall height isn"t much of an indicator, it's more about body proportions. I'm 6'1", and have short legs for my height.

Try the CTX 700 N, if you haven’t already. Similar sound (gotta put a sport exhaust on there), low seat height and automatic.

@@yashverma9924 I’m 5’6 and currently looking at a used mana for sale. I am really curious to know if I’m going to be able to flat foot it or at least get a good portion of my feet down on both sides of the bike because of my height (I’m 5’6) because the seat height from what I’m told is 31.5 and I start being able to have the balls of my feet down when I sit on a 31 inch seat height so I don’t want to go above 31 inches. this one’s just a little bit above that and I’m wondering if it can be lowered if I’m not able to fit it.
