Another nice instructional video, thx. BTW my local Aprilia dealership replaced front pads on my own 2018 Tuono Factory in like 15 minutes, while I waited. They said no evaluation of OEM’s required & had the pads in stock as well. As you said, not all dealerships are the same.

Hello Albe, sorry you had a bad experience with the dealer. I installed a Yoshimura Alpha T Works Race Slip-On Exhaust Aprilia RSV4 / Tuono V4 2017-2020 on my 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 factory. It is a little loud but sounds awesome. Having the stock 20lb muffler off the bike improves balance. Keep up the good work, thanks.

Hi James, a friend of mine has the Yoshi on his RSV4, and although it looks great and has a good tone, when we ride side by side I can’t hear myself thinking, lol, I guess I’m too old for the Yoshi, I wold t it if it had a DB killer that I could modify to achieve the right loudness for me.

Albe, such good advice here! My dealer here in San Diego was awesome at this....with the exception that I had to wait a week or so for the appointment to open up. But once it was, I rode over and they did the job in an hour. I am sorry your experience was so bad. Of course they replaced the pads with the OEM spec, as supplied by Aprilia. My service tech told me that he had done quite a few, perhaps a dozen or so, and that all of the pads he had removed looked excellent, depending upon usage and age of the machine. However he said Aprilia was being very good and essentially it was a new set of brake pads for free, except for your time of course. I would very much like to hear your comments on the differences and advantages of the EBM pads compared to the OEM after you've had a chance to get used to them......a future VLOG? Last question dude, your in-garage camera is excellent.....what type is it sir?
@AlbesADV4 жыл бұрын
Garey my friend, one week would have been acceptable to me for an appointment, what bugged me was showing up for my appoint and being told it might take 2 weeks to do it, well, not so much, lol. My camera is a Canon T7i while the close ups are made with a GoPro 7 just because it’s easier to handle, it took me a little while to figure out the best settings for the Canon in the garage, but that is my fault cause I’m a knucklehead sometimes.

Great video! I subscribed! I am brand new to Aprilia and just found a 2017 RSV4RR I couldnt pass on. However I live very far from a dealership... Do you know of an Aprilia diagnostic tool to clear codes from ECU should I ever need to? Working on the bike is no problem. Software is the problem.
@AlbesADV Жыл бұрын
I agree, software is always a problem on all vehicles now a day, I'm not sure if guzzidiag can clear codes as well, I'm always weary on messing with the software. Congrats on your RSV4, it's a fantastic bike and what a great engine 😀👍
@TheChaz81 Жыл бұрын
@@AlbesADV right on! I'm gonna keep researching but from what I can tell, it looks like it will let you read the codes. For example when you go in the software it will pull the faults from your bike. From there you can fix the fault by performing the maintenance required. I'll give you a definite answers when I know. Ciao!

Hi Albe, Great info on the Aprilia Is there a chance you can make a video on the Water Pump on the Aprilia, as mine has a slight Coolant leak every now and then from the weep hole. Not sure why.
@AlbesADV2 жыл бұрын
I'll look into it, but if it's coming out the weep hole make sure the system is not overfilled and keep an eye on the temp, make sure is not overtemping

@@AlbesADV Thanks for the reply on the water pump. Can you tell me what temperature your bike runs at. If I am stuck in traffic and its not really a hot day, mine gets to about 107 Celsius is that normal. My thermo fans come on at 101 Celsius.

Albe. Would you check your bike if you still have the Aprilia Tuono 1100rr, and tell me if every now and then, you find a couple of drops of coolant that come from the weep hole on the water pump. If it does, is this a normal operation. I noticed the water pump has a little black catch under the weep hole. Is it there to catch any drops that may seep from time to time. Mine seems to lose a drop or two every now and then, but no issues with overheating or a great loss of coolant. Can you help me out? Thanks
@AlbesADV2 жыл бұрын
I just looked all over my engine and couldn’t find any sign of coolant sipping, but that doesn’t mean yours is not doing it, as long as you have coolant in the system and is not dripping out excessively, you should be fine. My KTM525 exc does that, every time I ride it, there are 1 or 2 drops under the weep hole

Hi Albe, Not sure if you received my last message, but i just wanted to know at what temperature your bike runs. Mine was running at 106 Celsius the other day in traffic, but it was only possible a 18 degree Celsius day. The thermo fans kick in at 101 Celsius. The bike does cool down while riding longer distances in Poole weather and some times goes back to 80 Celsius, but quickly gets back to 102 in no time if you stop at lights for a bit. Is that normal?
@AlbesADV2 жыл бұрын
The way you describe it sounds a little fast, maybe it's time for a coolant flush 😳

That’s pretty standard mate. I upgraded my radiator cap from the 1.4 Aprilia one to the 1.8bar cap (it’s a KTM one) makes a big difference and not too much pressure for the radiator. That should help a fair bit 💪🏼👍🏼👍🏼

No, unless you hyper-extend the pistons in the caliper. Once you remove the pads do NOT touch the lever, reinstall the new pads, put the caliper back on the bracket and you are good. Remember to pump the brakes before you go riding and take it easy for a few hundred miles 👍
