Very helpful - thank you! Seeing those shapes (and how's there's a smaller number of them than I thought for the major chords) made it so much less intimidating.

Honestly, I prefer to establish the new key on the V rather than the I. To me, it helps get the key better in our ears. Fun fact, the first scale degree (do) of the old key would be the seventh scale degree (ti) of the new key, so if I was to start the new key on the V, the do would be the third of the V chord of that new key.

How often should you do vocal exercises? 7 days a week?
@AprilKeez3 жыл бұрын
I would start by warming up right before you sing; think of it like stretching before you go for a run! If you sing every day, definitely warm up every day, but otherwise, go easy and make sure to stop if you're ever hoarse or in pain. If you're working with a teacher and are learning vocal technique, warm ups every day are a great way to practice. They'll make you more familiar with your instrument and (with proper technique) they can help you to expand your range and work through your vocal break. Just make sure to take care of your voice and drink lots of water! 😊
