100% agree on the 110 V outlet, that’s a really worthwhile thing to have when traveling/camping.

Depends on watts. For camping it is very helpful to have a full 1500 watt limit
@dizzzy69 Жыл бұрын
Interesting idea about the batteries. Wondering for those of us who only want the 400 miles at the onset if we can simply buy more batteries later since there should be the same amount of room for 400 or 1000 mile range.

Happy to hear about the 110 V outlet. Even if it's not a high watt output. I seem to recall it would be 600 or 800 watts. Which can still run a lot of things. Being able to connect external solar panels is epic too. I do hope that you can connect to solar, but still have the Aptera locked. Not sure where they are thinking it would be. Maybe around the charge port area ? I think we'll see some subtle design changes with Delta when they show it this winter.
@passivlife Жыл бұрын
Yeah the sockets for external solar are fairly small usually, but I'm curious where they will place them. The rear, next to the main charge port would make sense. Inside would not be so cool.

Yes, I do believe Aptera is coming out with 110V outlet but it is only capable of 600 Watt loads. Would have been nice if it was capable of 2000 Watts so that I can run an induction cook top.
@passivlife Жыл бұрын
Yeah 600w is a little limited. You can get 500w induction plates, I had the same idea, but my bet is that they're quite slow. 2000w would be perfect.
@Soothsayer210 Жыл бұрын
@@passivlife the alternative would be to run the 2000w off an EcoFlow battery bank which is connected to Aptera's 110v outlet. But you will have to carry that in your car, another 25 pounds.
@passivlife Жыл бұрын
@kontiki9934 actually, I think it won't be as much of a problem as I originally thought. My single induction hob is 1000w on full power, but I can boil water on half power, it just takes a little longer. Probably still works as long as you're careful. That said, I'll probably buy an ecoflow power station anyway.

We use our car about 3 times per week going less than 40 miles on average since retirement in our country home. It would be nice to have an emergency outlet for 110 volt, 60 Hz AC to power our window AC and one refrigerator in case of emergencies. It would also be nice to use that power while camping. I would be willing to pay for that extra. This outlet could also power a small air pump or emergency flood light.

Lots of interesting details that I was not aware of. And soon Aptera will be a movie star. More of this kind of product placement will certainly help Aptera get better known.

There is a 110 outlet in my 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. It is located in my dash. I usually charge my laptop with it.

I can't believe they're not more common. I've seen a few ev owners hook up fridges and coolers in the trunk, or sound systems and projectors for outside cinema...possibilities are endless.

You are correct on pronunciation for Kim Java. She is a Tesla influencer who spends time reviewing upgrades for her Model 3 and other Tesla's mostly. Chris had also mentioned a secret knock knock programable code as a possibility. But as mentioned by a concerned person here. That simply may be too observable to be safe. I am not sure about the launch edition having a 110 outlet and have not heard about any V2L. But I agree it would be a good selling point for camping but not enough to be very useful outside of that. There are some vids from surfers at a recent contest in California who looked at Gamma. Steve at AOC as the clips and a different marketing approach. There are lots of eggs in different youtube releases from the Tesla event; Bearded Tesla Guy, My Tesla Weekend, both were informative. In one of those we learned where the emergency door release is in the gamma and where it will be in the Launch edition. Also what is the first commissioned part of the molding of the body.

@passivlife Жыл бұрын
It depends on which model. If you reserve a launch edition and you live in the US, then hopefully it will be six months to a year, if it all goes to plan. Other versions will probably start with the 250 mile at the end of next year and the 600 and 1000 I mid 2025 is my guess.

The knock knock feather is a bad security issue for me. Let’s say a girl is getting away from a creep. She knocks and gets in. He’s close enough to hear the knock and repeats it. Now where’s she at? Having anything besides a quick to find lock button is a disadvantage.
