At CES, Aptera drove a number of Media types about 25 miles and had more charge at the end of the day than when they began. I even saw 25ish watts in total shadow! Ya, it’s real.

The progress is amazing. Aptera took an existing design in 2019 and now here we are just about three months shy of their 6 year birthday and they have one that can drive around a parking lot. That's progress that no other company can brag about.

WHAT???? Do you even know the history of Aptera? Jay Leno did a special on them (kzbin.info/www/bejne/haO0onaCh72faNk), that was well over a decade ago. They were trying to get this thing going well before that video. Progress is always good. I'm a fan and supporter of their cause, but let's be factual at least. Aptera has been trying to sell a single car that can be driven on an road by a customer for about 15-20 years. I'm rooting for them, they are neighbors and good people.

Steve and Chris admit that they made mistakes in letting their first company's original concepts be mangled by managerial/investment types; they've vowed to never let that happen again. There is no doubt about their technology, their design and innovation. What we are yet to see their ability to mass production. They have to invest and build Giga Factories that can manufacture these cars in hundreds of thousands every year. Hope they achieve that 🤞
@ImpressiveTechView18 күн бұрын
The finding is the hilltask. But slowly they will surely reach production soon. 2025 is promising
@nickavisa16 күн бұрын
High production has been part of their design from the beginning with the ability to set up assembly plants WITHOUT the need for billion dollar factories. Parts are brought in and assembled in any open flat warehouse. yes some of the parts are made in special places, but it will be nothing like the scale of a Tesla Gigafactory giving Aptera a huge advantage.

@@charlesbeane8795 I don't like phrase "baseless claims". Aptera has really done a great job designing and updating. Their wind tunnel results were right in line with their simulations. And they are in the Validation phase right now. And the have done real world track tests. They've tested their solar panels on their own. Not sure why you feel like there is quite a bit of doubt?
@Molishious16 күн бұрын
I’m rooting for Aptera, but this video misrepresents their progress. It mentions a production intent vehicle as if they had a solar powered vehicle but as far as I know they have a an electric vehicle and some solar panels that when attached to the Aptera are supposed to charge it enough to make it go 40 miles. However, right now they don’t have an actual vehicle with solar panels attached to it that can charge the battery enough on a sunny day to go 40 miles. I don’t know how you plan the manufacture of a vehicle you haven’t proven works yet. I look forward to when Aptera builds their first solar car that does something similar to what their website describes.

In the times when batteries were super expensive and their capacity limited, one could make an argument for the Aptera based on its efficiency. The window for that kind of argument is rapidly closing if it hasn't closed already. With the advent of semi and solid state batteries, EV range will no longer be an issue so most people will choose a more practical, four wheel, five seater vehicle that meets all the safety requirement of a car. The Aptera will be, at best, a niche vehicle for those that like its shape and value efficiency over practicality.
@ImpressiveTechView17 күн бұрын
It may still take a while to reach there
@nickavisa16 күн бұрын
You're missing a point. If the battery tech gets crazy better, Aptera efficiency will track right along with that. Lighter cheaper batteries make the already cheaper Aptera even cheaper and even more efficient. More battery capacity for for a vehicle so efficient it can charge with onboard solar means those batteries hold more of a power buffer for the power from the sun. Increasing the free driving. I like Aptera for the long run. No rusting, right to repair, fun, hyper efficient. I think it will be a game changer.
@patrickhawley60016 күн бұрын
No, you are missing the point. When efficiency becomes less important, people will choose practically. That's why people drive SUVs instead of gas versions of an Aptera. It will be a niche vehicle much the same as a small sports car.
@rontravisano825715 күн бұрын
@@patrickhawley600 Possibly, this country does like giant wasteful vehicles. But why would efficiency become less important when everything seems to be sooooo expensive. Isn't that what everyone exclaims? So wouldn't a vehicle that's more affordable and crazy efficient be the perfect commuter car? 2nd car? I think it's going to find a substantial place in the market especially with younger more environmentally couscous people.
