Excellent video! I can see that your door has the same safety mechanism as mine, where you have to lift the door handle before locking the door. I would love it if I could lock the door remotely - without me making sure that the handled has been lifted. It seems impossible, right?

@@SoiledFrank thank you for the kind comment. Unfortunately for the moment it is impossible without manually lifting the handle, however there may be new things on the horizon that may be able to solve this problem.

Buen vídeo. Me he comprado este mismo modelo pero me da un fallo que me gustaría que vierais a ver si me podéis ayudar ya que el personal de la empresa no lo hace. Tengo un vídeo grabado con el fallo cuando me está calibrando está la puerta cerrada la abre completamente, junto con la condena, y la vuelva a cerrar y se oyó un pitido largo durante unos 10 segundos y ahí ya da el fallo de calibración. Ayúdame, por favor!!

Hi Andy, You've done a wonderful job. Definitely convinced me to go and buy one of these and fit myself. However I have one of those thumb turns, inside the door to lock and unlock. So I'm wondering how I can fit the lock with those? Some thumb turns have a small screw at the side, however mine doesn't seem to have any threading for a screw driver. Could be just a pin? Any ideas. Thanks again!

@@blue9715 hi, I have found that if there is no obvious sign of being able to unscrew the inside thumb turn, usually this means that it is one solid unit and is designed to be removed. In this case, I would say it would be worth the investment for a new euro cylinder

Do you really need the emergency function with the keys opening at any time or can it be installed without having it?

@@thegiantdutchman if you do not have the emergency function, you will not be able to unlock the door from the outside. As this is a retrofit lock, the lock must be able to unlock from both sides if anything fails. For example, if for some reason you did not have any charge on the door lock itself and you were outside the house then you would not be able to unlock the door from the outside and get in

Hi Andy Love the video and help for installation. I just had mine installed following your steps. Im currently in a position where some idiot has pressed reset on the number pad and I am locked out. When trying to redo the set up I need the QR code fro the lock on the inside of the lock where I cant reach and my keys cant open the door as there is already a key on the other side where the mechanism is. Any suggestions? thanks

@@diechicken888 hi, how did somebody manage to reset the lock without the fingerprint or passcode of the administrative user? Also it is recommended that you have a lock with a safety feature installed meaning that you should be able to unlock the door from the outside even with a key on the inside. my only suggestion would be that if you have another door, try and get in that way otherwise I am unsure how to help you with this. No one should’ve been able to reset the lock without the admin fingerprint or password though.

@@Tty85 hi there, for this particular installation I used two different adapters for the keypad and the G4 however if you get a power adapter that is 8 to 24 V and a minimum of one amp then you can power both devices from the same plug. You do this by putting. A three way. WAGO connect to on the positive wire and the same on the negative wire. Then you can run two positive wires and two negative wires each to each device if this makes sense. This way you can power both devices from one individual plug. @@andysreviewsandsmarthometips My G4 doorbell is wired and gets power from old doorbell. It was an old doorbell, but an electrician put some fast glass fuses and transform from 220V to 12-24V.

@@Tty85 in this case, I would personally recommend contacting the electrician that installed it as I do not feel qualified to advise you on this particular set up. If anything went wrong, I would hate to be the one that gave you the wrong advice. I know that it can be done so that both devices are powered from the same source, however, like I say, I would consult your electrician since it is wired into a main system

@@andysreviewsandsmarthometipsor if you were using an 8v to 24v you could just wire the positive of the keypad to the positive of the G4 and the same with the negatives. Job done!

Andy I need some help. I’m really struggling. 1st I got a thumb turn cylinder as I’ve a odd cylinder size and couldn’t get a double entry. Fitted that. Fitted u200 I’ve now a predicament where only my internal handle engages with the latch and only a key turn either side also operates the latch. Problem being the key turn doesn’t fully retract for the hook bolt and dead bolts. They do move but could do with retracting another 5 to 10mm which seems odd. A push of the handle retracts the bolts properly but as I 1st mentioned I’d be stuck out still in testing because the external handle doesn’t retract the latch because I have a particular spindle… I so want this to work somehow but I’m borderline boxing it all back up and sending back. I’m losing the will to live. In your video it seems your handle only does a latch and 1 deadbolt?

That’s the porch door done now to find a suitable mechanism so i can have a 2nd u200 fitted to the inner door. Screwing in the door a device that is likely to only last a couple of years seems a bit weird. It should be possible to do the same without screwing in the door

I don’t think you needed to screw the baseplate to the door, you can secure it to the cylinder using the supplied Allen key

Such a pain, I did notice even if I do some how by miracle trim it down noticed it won't work in my lock anyway because my door can't unlock a door if a key is already in the door, so I ordered a Yell double euro lock that comes with thin metal keys so that will do :)

Changed my mind, went for the Aqara euro lock instead and will return the Yell lock 😂 this should resolve my issue. Downside is I have to pull the handle up to lock which is a pain

I don't seem to be able to remove the backplate of the keypad. Came to your 'detailed' video to see just that part but you only say "I have already used that little tool to remove it" and the video skips it. It's my bad luck I guess but maybe for you to consider not leaving steps out, especially when this is a 19 minute video. Useful video for other though, good luck.

That's a really rough installation - just mounting the U200 over the existing locking mechanism as it doesn't sit flush with the door 🤷‍♂
