When Man of Steel came out in 2013 and all the easter eggs and references that came with it, our ideas ran wild with possibilities of a bright DC cinematic universe that would rival that Marvel movies. Now 10 years later it was all just one gigantic waste of time and money....what a shame 😔

But then they completely drop that element (assuming Clark being an inefficient hero was intentional at all, and not just Snyder splooging on every frame lol), and halfheartedly morph him offscreen into a more traditional superman role.

2018 feels like 20 years ago... can't believe back than we were so hyped for the idea of an Aquaman sequel, we were fresh of the Infinity War hype and anticipating endgane. Flash forward to today and both the MCU and DCEU are on life support.

Endgame felt pretty definitive, they got rid of both Iron Man and Captain America for contractual reason$, we didn't knew if Tom Holland's Spiderman would continue being a thing on the MCU or not (again, contractual reasons), at the time Disney didn't bought Fox yet... so really, the prospect of having only z-list characters, no more Spiderman, Iron Man and Captain America... I was not hyped, not at all tbh. And the DCEU was already tarnished, WW and Aquaman were decent and fun, but everything else was flawed. I knew the MCU would decline in quality, but I didn't expect they would actually plummet... but the end of the DCEU felt obvious, they had no plan whatsoever since the very start

Amber Heard was definitely cut as much as possible, Mera has about 5 lines with Aquaman and even her "heroic" moment was about 4 seconds, she would pop in and out of action scenes and dialogue, I doubt she even has a close-up I could bet there was a different cut of the movie before Amber Heard's debacle and after that the studio demanded a ton a reshoots and a different cut of the movie altogether

Tbh Johnny had been on the final legs of his career. He's made more than enough money and has been in the space for 39 years. I don't like Disney dropped him, but that's their mistake. Amber didn't escape that scott free. She was ordered to pay $10M in damages, paying her lawyers a ton of money, then giving Johnny $1M more in a settlement. She might have been in this movie, but that's because they had already started filming before that court case started. I don't suspect her to be in much more movies going forward.

Honestly, I'm kinda glad. Now people are more interested in creative independent films like pretty much anything produced by A24. But if they ever do restart the MCU. We need a proper adaptation of the Fantastic Four and the Galactus Trilogy already. It's been way too long to not bring it to the big screen. We need it. Mostly, I need it. Honestly, they've should've restarted DCEU after Justice League. And they got James Gunn to lead, which I think he actually does care and is probably the best option...but they're trying to salvage a broken and drawn out failure. Yes, Sucide Squad and then Peace Maker were nice. But they should've just rebooted it. Start fresh and find a better collective and future for the films since Disney has in weakness for some time now. But WB is trying to save and demanded Gunn to try and use Flashpoint as a "restart" but that hasnt turned out so great. My biggest concern is they think they're being clever but really they're adding fuel to a dying ember.

I think people overestimate marketing, nowadays in the information era even a random ass Godzilla movie can be popular through the word of mouth. I will not say marketing is useless, of course not, we just had the recent example of Cyberpunk 2077 holding things together through pure marketing stunts, Starfield was super popular at launch, etc.. of course a effective stunt will work, but if the movie has actual quality, that alone will make it a hit simply because the internet will spread the "news" like a plague

Jason Mamoa is great in everything he's been in, Game of Thrones, Aquaman, Dune, I mean he's the single best thing in Fast X. It saddens me that this movie supposedly sucks so much because I think he deserves better and his talents should serve a better product. Here's hoping he exits the DC stuff and gets to do really great stuff like when he was in Dune again.

necrons have been in the w40k catalogue for a while, as far back as the early 90s with space crusade (before they were called necrons) but this is not the only movie to copy and paste from w40k, I guess they feel they can do so because its a UK company (games workshop). Him and his father talking at the table after not really anything mayor is happening, that's pretty bold, I liked that. They literally introduced us to mayor set pieces multiple times and not throwing us into them, the underwater ice cave (turning into the final fight). Or the djungle being set up as Dr. Shin wants to leave. @@brandonworron1658

CGI isn't as good as you think it is. Most of the CGI we all have seen has been in the dark, that's why it looks like good CGI. However every time they show CGI in daylight or well lit scenes, you really get to see just how poor it really is. Well that's for certain films where they were just being lazy

Hey Joe if you read this, please review the movie The Iron Claw. Its an A24 film & a biopic about legendary Pro Wrestling family The Von Erichs who in their heyday used to be as famous as your beloved Dallas Cowboys. The Von Erichs having famously ruled Texas' Pro Wrestling scene during the old Territory Era until a series of heartbreaking shocking tragedies brought the family to its knees. Dam it sucks that the sequel did not live up to the first movie. Aquaman 1 was fantastic & a key part as to why Aquaman 1 was great was that Comics Icon (& the very architect behind Aquaman's successful comeback) Geoff Johns helped develop the story but now the sequel doesn't have Geoff to help write its story & it shows. Sucks that The DC Cinematic Universe goes out with a whimper. Now we got james gunn's relaunch to look forward to.....God help us😰

Man of steel was a movie that has grown on me over time but still after the release of that movie it was obvious they need to course correct and instead they doubled down with BVS. There were redeeming things. Wonder Woman 1, Shazam 1, flash, the 2nd suicide squad, peacemaker, aquaman 1 but it doesn’t matter because these don’t make money. It is sad but people have been sounding alarms for years and they didn’t listen

I watched the first movie and once was enough. That's enough to indicate why I won't watch the sequel. Fortunately I discovered an animated film based on Calamity Jane... on French cable. Good pacing and bold use of saturated colours. I'll watch it again on Christmas Eve.

The first Aquaman was...fine. It had some cool visuals but it wasn't a film I felt like coming back to after the second viewing. I had no interest in the sequel. It's a shame though that it looks like it, as well as the DCEU, will drift off into nothingness.

I actually really liked the first Aquaman movie with Jason Momoa. It had some cheese in it that made it likable without the weird Hollywood cringe humor that's prevalent in all of Disney/Marvel's movies. It had plot holes, sure. That yadda yadda out of the desert is unforgivably silly. Glossing over that kind of thing though, it had a lot of good features. It was like watching a comic book movie from the 00's and that was refreshing in a lot of ways. I'm just refusing to watch this train wreck. The Amber Heard situation is one thing, but the Henry Cavill situation on top of it and the call that it's all coming to a close before it even went anywhere was just too much for me to forgive. Zachary Levi as Shazam, Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam... I even liked Ben Affleck as Batman. Now they're all gone and their stories are gone with them for more multiverse BS. I'll watch the next Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and The Batman (Robert Pattinson) movies- after the reviews come out-, but that's about all there is to look forward to.
