@sonyblank14875 жыл бұрын
@@Here_is_Waldo that's different, but is still an excuse for exposition dump. You can show apprehension between groups through their looks/avoidance, by showing adherence to social norms, and by culminating clear distinction between areas. There's so much you cam glean from visuals, and when you have a movie (a visual medium) dumping exposition is just not engaging or fun. It violates Hitchcock's doctrine on suspense vs. surprise. Surprise - Two guys have a boring conversation and five minutes later a bomb under the table goes off. Suspense - Same boring conversation only this time you let the audience know there's a bomb under the table that will go off in five minutes. The audience will be much more engaged for a longer period of time.

I was a bit weirded out when Mera was complaining about the humans dumping their sewage into the oceans of the Atlanteans. If only the highborn can breathe air, this means most of the population has to poop in the water, and as we know, poop floats. They can't be doing that sitting down or else it would float up into their hair. So logically thinking, Atlanteans poop while they're swimming(probably at those high speeds) in order to dodge their own poop. So either they have grand arenas, let's call them "Poopariums", constructed so their people can swim in larger circles while pooping, or everyone just poops out there in the wild and they have no toilets at all(except maybe for the highborn). I thought about this a lot as you can see. I probably have to buy the movie and watch it again as I missed some scenes while thinking about this. Anyways, not many movies make me think about how people are supposed to poop, so I guess that's.. something.
@yeahey5947 Жыл бұрын
Late reply I know but I always thought of this as a kid watching lord of the rings, I suppose they CAN most likely get their trousers off but do they just do it behind a rock or bush or something? Do they poop in groups? Goonies gave me an unrealistic expectation for portraying bathroom breaks while on an adventure. It would have been a good opportunity for Sam and Frodo of maybe Legolas and gimli to do some kissing shenanigans.
