they`re technically in kingdom protozoa, meaning they aren`t Fungi. They`re big amoebas with many nuclei (please correct me if I was wrong there) and they are technically considered to look like Fungi or smthn

One tip: It is safer to not use water from the tap. Tap water can have levels of chlorine toxic or stressful to the fish. They sell chemical neutralizing drops you can add, or, it is usually sufficient to let the tap water "age" in a bucket for 24 to 48 hours prior to use.

Did you really get informed and this is what you did? It's unfortunate; those water changes are going to kill your fish. The amount of food you're giving them is excessive, and changing the filter material or even washing it with chlorinated water will kill the beneficial bacteria in your aquarium.
