AQUARIUM WATER CHANGES Game Changer

I promised a link to the thermostatic mixer valve I have, but I could only find used ones on Ebay. I'm guessing they have been discontinued.
If you search Thermostatic MIXER valve, there's plenty out there, but double check the minimum temperature before you purchase. Most start at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees fahrenheit) which in most cases would probably be fine for 50% or below water changes but there are ones out there which start at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees fahrenheit).

Great video. I have a mixing valve installed on my discus tank works a treat. Only comment I will add is that seachem safe is much much cheaper than seachem prime.

I’ve been thinking about this for years, so I can have my RO water during winter at the right temperature, but always stepped back because of the plumbing work required. I guess I have to make friends with a plumber 😂

Yeah I did do that for years. I find the hose easier to jump between tanks in different rooms.

You put the dechlorinator in after the water change? I put mine in before I start filling the tank back up.

Usually just as I start filling. I had already added the dechlorinator this was overlayed footage for the sake of the video. I always add it as soon as I start filling in normal circumstances. I'll need to state this in future videos. Thank you👍👍

@lpoolck17 No no not at all, no major big deal when you add it but it does make sense the earlier the better. In a nano tank or small top up I would normally add to the bucket of water before adding.

My tmv is piped up to a spare canister outlet straight into the tank . No hose needed 👌

20 odd years of water changes every week and it is absolutely no hastle. I can feel the correct temp out of the tap to within a couple of degrees. For me, at least im not sure it could get much easier

Totally get that and if it's not broke why fix it. For me it's more about the system, hose with same temp every time and multiple tanks in multiple rooms. Had a few queries regarding this so thought I'd do the video. May help some but not all and like yourself they have a system that works and they enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to comment🙂
