Absolute belter of a tank that. Loving the channel and content. I’ve just switched to using seachem excel/flourish on my 5ft tank as was having bba issues and I must say I’m sticking with them. Plants are looking much better for it. Although I do use dennerele pro fertiliser as well on big water changes

Beautiful; simplicity at its best; unlike scapers who fill it all up and over with so much you lose the whole idea of scaping itself; tip: take the cacti out of their pots first; use the empty pots and arrange them as position them first in the order you want in the tank and fill up around and in between them; then remove one by one whilst inserting the cactii in order! Then Ada plata sand
@GEORDIESCAPER7 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. This was more of an experiment to see if cacti did ok in these lovely little DOOA shallows. Because I hadn't seen anyone do a cacti setup. It's still going strong, healthy, but slow and steady growth. I'm going to add a small light when the darker evenings, mornings kick in. So far so good. Thanks for the tip. 👍👍

I love to aquascape from time to time with whatever I have accumulated over the years in seuryu/dragon stones, woods and sands etc; few nano tanks I do my own Aqua-Ukiyo-é style scaping with; Ukiyo-é is the Japanese art of painting landscapes and dancing women or daily practices; sensual romantic movements in them and I inspire myself by creating aquatic beauty while listening to traditional Japanese music from Edo era etc; never used Mojo wood, but now I am very keen on finding them in my area .. would love to buy a new 6,7G cube and Mojo wood in it ..

@@GEORDIESCAPERps: I’m in love with certain shapes of woods like this one, myself never plant my substrate/sand but only use epiphytes and given my style, I keep it to a bare romantic minimalist aesthetic with plants and such; I see music and dance moves in these materials and spend days / hours listening and learning and changing until am getting the ultimate zen moment in my head and then I scape .. no Beta fish ever; just Gourami and few shrimps, or cpo, 3% light and I use purigen in teafilter bags inside my hang-on back filters, also add different sorts of leaves (pieces) inside the filter instead of throwing them into the tank; beneficial for fish/plants; also use Ada products mostly; love their sand .. use Black Wood in your next tank

Why do you use 2 filters?
@GEORDIESCAPER11 күн бұрын
Because I had two so this helps to get flow around all areas of the tank, less dead spots. If I didn't have a filter I would normally add a wave maker in opposite corner/side. To create a circle motion of flow. I only do this on tanks thar are 4 foot and above.

Hello Geordie , i love your videos. Such a talent. Can I ask you something about oase 350 thermo filter? After some time my filter slows down, i am cleaning my pre- filter regularly . Main filter not. Might it be that problem ?
@GEORDIESCAPER18 күн бұрын
Hi there and thank you so much. I usually rinse the main filter media in tank water every 4 to 6 months. The blue pre filter sponges clog quite easy so I clean these religiously once a week. Anything past a week and I do notice the flow slow down. Most my filters now have the orange sponges which tend not to clog up as quick although I still clean them weekly. It's important to clean the hosing regularly too as this can slow flow when they begin to clog. Hope this helps.
