Sorry about that bass, total bummer. Awesome progress on the 3000 build though, it's not even mine and I'm excited to see that up and running. With the Xingu River, I think it would be cool if you video taking the divider out, even though it's not technically "live" it would be cool to see that. Oh, and I'd guess snakes.

Love seeing all the progress. Perhaps it would be safer, for avoiding flooding, to run that pump from the 300 sump into the mangrove estuary instead of from the main tank. So the sump doesn't overflow if the main tank's return pump stops..
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. Ай бұрын
I'll try to remember to show it in the next video, but the short is that the pump is positioned at the same level as the drain, so in the event of a pump failure it will stop pumping as the water drains below it's intake.

I was freaking out a lil bit last weekend jump starting two 20gal tanks I have, one to house my pond goldfish since I took the pond down for the winter and the other to house a male Turkana Jewel cichlid and one of the Peacocks (don't worry, there's a divider) I have that kept getting beat up (I think she's a female), and dude is getting ready to jump start thousands of salt water gallons like it's a normal water change day for a freshwater 55gal🤣😂🤣. Either way Predator Bay 3K is coming along very nicely, I'm more interested on the plumbing aspect right now then the fish for some odd ball reason, and looking forward to the 1200gal builds as well.
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. Ай бұрын
Just finished all the plumbing last night...made sure to cover it on video. It definitely takes some coordination to jump start PB3000 while keeping their current tank fully cycled and ready to turn into the Lagoon tank, but its not too bad 🙂
@edcctf
@edcctf Ай бұрын
Do you have to cycle these tanks or are you actually scaling so large that beneficial bacteria will build up faster than the tank could get too high with ammonia/nitrite just due to massive water volume? You are amazing by the way!! :)
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. Ай бұрын
I do have to cycle the tanks, but I do it mostly by moving over cycled media from established aquariums. I do reduce feeding and add beneficial bacteria to new tanks to make sure their are no ammonia/nitrite spikes.

@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. Ай бұрын
Mainly through ductless mini splits which I run in eco mode and they run pretty much 24/7, with dehumidifiers for backup. It may sound expensive that they run 24/7, but they are so energy efficient and when run in eco-mode really don't use much electricity. Basically cheaper than run 2 conventional dehumidifiers. I always tell people that I couldn't do what I do without LED lights, DC pumps and Mini Splits 🙂

Probably should reconsider the silver dollars, sorry for the double loss. Predatory fins has fogos.. also not trying to tell you how to do things cuz you do things pretty damn good b😅ut I don't think your tops are going to be strong enough to keep your arowanas in once they're fully mature. They jump even harder than the bass do.. they're going to go right through those lids. I would either get something heavier or find a way to weight them down. I personally use netting it's easier on the fish when they hit it and it just bounces them right back into the water and they can't get through it. And there's never any gaps if installed properly. I know it doesn't help with evaporation but dehumidifiers do LOL. But it won't be an LOL ing situation if you're arowana jumps out you now what I'm saying. You may be able to lay to plastic down over top of the netting to help with evaporation. Great content looking forward to seeing that Marine estuary hooked up to the big 3,000 gallon completed and up and running..
