I usually don't much care for the people who make instructional KZbin videos but I've gotta say this guy kicks ass. It's refreshing to see someone who actually knows exactly what he's talking about. All too often I find myself watching someone speaking with great confidence and I can't help but cringe because they are completely unaware of how shockingly, frighteningly misinformed and ignorant they are about the subject on which they are speaking. You know, like that orange covfefe fellow with the tiny hands and the pee pee tape.

Great video. You have stepped up your editing - this must have been a lot of work to create and it is very well done. Thank you for explaining the golden ratio so well, too. I am playing with the scape in my 55, trying to mix artful layout with what the fish need. It's a lot of fun. I also paint, and it's funny how a painting will go through a case of the screaming uglies before it gets close to something aesthetically pleasing. Working with live plants adds a whole new element that is as challenging as it is rewarding. Please do more on creating realistic and beautiful depth because I suck at it!

Those are just rules. There's tons more to get your there. Experience is one you can never short cut. Keep at it and you will rock it.

Hello ,i now understand the rule of thirds,but they always show rule of third diagrams in rectangular tanks.can the rule of 3rds be used as well in equally sized tank?like cube tanks 35x35x35 for example.yhank you and more power

I've got a damaged 55 gal tank that I'm cutting down to make a shallow tank. The dimensions are roughly 12x12x48. Can the Rule of Thirds help me make a better looking aquascape in this tank? Or will it look kind of weird because the tank is 4x as wide as it is tall?

I think I answered this in the live chat but the third rules can still be applied. Just image cutting up the tank in 9 piece blocks. It's just more... squishy. :)
