Aquille Carr: Size Doesn't Matter

At 5'6 140lbs, Aquille Carr always finds himself looking up at other players on the court. Those same players always find themselves shocked at the athleticism and talent Carr brings to the hardwood. Carr is an electrifying scorer and made a name for himself nationally at the 2010 Nike EYBL Session #1.

@Curtis321ful : Is he really 17 in the 9th grade? That means he's been held back at least twice and will be ineligible for his senior and maybe even junior year. It happened to Lenny Cooke.

Whoever read this make sure aquille reads it he needs to develop a left hand i have only watched a couple videos so far but i have noticed that everytime he drive he uses his right hand even if he is on the left side of the basket and everytime he drives his left hand is jus a transition hand he never starts his drive with the left or finish with the left in my opinion he is talented but if he played against a higher level they are jus going to make him go left because he can't use that hand

@JHop873 its 100 roster spots on a college football team... he was known for basketball so they jus gave him a shot becuz he tried out. 18 tackles and 1 interception

A lot of people say this but truthfully if he was 6'3" he wouldn't have the agility/speed he has, his center of gravity would not be as low, which means his ballhandling and ability to weave through defenders would not be as great, and his lightning quick reactions would be reduced.He would have to rely on his shot more as oppose to his quickness and speed, and the kid can't really shoot very well. He'd still be a real good player though.

@Luckalini So whats he gonna do when he gets to college and doesnt go to class? HE WONT BE PLAYING. Hes not gonna be able to do that kinda shit when he faces a John Henson, or Jared Sullinger type player. I know for a fact that he cant shoot or it would be showing ALOT more jumpshots. When he takes it in the paint in the college level hes gonna get it sent into the stands. The guy is good when playing against players 3 and 4 years younger than him, but hes gonna get ABUSED in college.

@Truegenius23 ya boy Barea a chance. Its funny how before somebody get in the NBA theres ALWAYS a bunch of haters like yourself saying somebody cant play becuz size or whatever. Then they they come in and PROVE to yall crazy behinds(like JJ BArea) did that they can play at the highest level and yall all on they jock! The same chance u gave Barea to prove hisself, give Aquille that chance also. You never know if he'll be better than ya boy. I believe he will.
@SupremeTeamFP
@SupremeTeamFP 13 жыл бұрын
@Truegenius23 Come on man, JJ really bout 5-8 5'9, they always give 2inches in the NBA. And you proved my point yet AGAIN. Before JJ got in the NBA everybody said the same shit. he was too small. Mind you JJ was UNDRAFTED becuz they thought he was too little. he eventually went thru summer league and got picked up. Now he's an inportant piece. For you to tell me with Aquille speed he cant get steals, you a fool lol.The shortness work to his advantage just like JJ. Give him a chance like u gave
@SupremeTeamFP
@SupremeTeamFP 13 жыл бұрын
@Truegenius23 Smh. Talent is what matters. Not size. Til yall can explain to me why Mugsy Bogues and Spud webb was effective in the NBA, then yall point is invalid. Spud didnt avergae 16ppg one of his years for no reason. Or Mugsy did dish out over 7 and a half assists per game for no reason. Warrick Dunn was nice in the NFL. The smaller u are, the more talent u just got to have becuz of ur size. And Aquille got it. just like Mugsy and Spudd n Nate Rob had it.

I can only hope someone in his camp is taking care of him!!! Meaning, paying attention to his diet, his workouts, and trying to get him to speak a bit better!!!!! This little brother absolutely has a future, but he has to get a few more gifts before taking it to college and then hopefully the pro's. Hopefully if he can get up to at least 5'8 or 5'9 he can become a freak like Nate but with better handles and hopefully facilitating skills....I just hope someone is doing this for him!!!!

@ Luckalini, As a black college student athlete with a high GPA thats just an ignorant comment that gpa doesn't matter. How is being smart even a matter of race. Smh. Also that is not what all colleges are looking for, they are looking for smart young athletes who can get the job done off and on the court.

Dude got hell of game, awesome! But how is this guy suppose to be finish high school in 2013 playing ball when he is turning 19 next month. how you gonna be 20 and half years playing high school basketball as a senior in 2013? I don't even think that is legal. I was 17 my whole senior year man I'm just sayingg!
@SupremeTeamFP
@SupremeTeamFP 13 жыл бұрын
@Truegenius23 So REALISTICALLY givem a chance like ever other small player. Dude has EXCEPTIONAL talent and EVERYBODY cn see it. He is better than SPud and Mugsy at his age now. So i dnt see the "REALISM" if folks sayin his size wud matter if those guys sizes didnt. thats realistic. "Believe higher than everyone else, and GREATNESS is achieved". Truest statement ever...
@SupremeTeamFP
@SupremeTeamFP 13 жыл бұрын
@Truegenius23 Plus you just proved my point by saying who ever Aquille burns by the defending team will give help. And vice versa. When he play Defense, he'll have help also. So whats yall point? JJ barea, is a liabilty on defense. But Dallas won they championship and he was an important peice to they run wasnt he? thought so buddy...

5''6??? How the hell are you planning on getting in the nba unless you are standing out like crazy and if you do make it to the nba your would probably be below a 70 percent overall rank. If you were 6''0 than you would be something. So size does matter.
@FlushBoss
@FlushBoss 12 жыл бұрын
Size matters to a certain degree, this is in high school, in college, the gus will be a LOT bigger, and then there's the NBA where you've got 7 footers patrolling the paint, shame but I don't think he's going to make it...
