Nice presentation despite the glaring historical inaccuracies. May be I'm expecting too much from KZbin videos... By 1915, Ottoman regime had been usurped by the ultra-secular Young Turks (who later on dragged the empire into WW1, on the side of Germany for some reason). Armenian genocide and expulsion, was about creating an ethno-nationalist Turkish state by secular Turks inspired by Western style democracies. It's easy to read religion into it because of the religious affiliations of the parties involved. But it's not true. In fact, it's Islamic code of law that protected minorites within Ottoman empire from it's inception, through the Millet system. It's breakdown by secular nationalists is what resulted in the tragedies like Armenian genocide. Defining Ottoman state at that time as 'Islamist', is laughable and clearly points to the lack of serious research put into this video. Moreover, if you are to go by the conventional definition of Islamism and Islamists, they were only in their very early stages of formation in Egypt. Yeah, so Nice story, but not factual history.
