Absolutely incredible work! As if designing and building this wasn't impressive enough, you've gone on to fully document it with complete parts lists, assembly instructions, and even every little detail of building wiring harnesses. Stellar work. Thank you so much for sharing your skills with the rest of us!

@anninrobotics7 жыл бұрын
Hello, yes the cables did hit the blocks but I programmed that entire routine in one shot. I suppose I could've gone back and try to monkey with it and re-recorded the video so that the cables didn't hit the blocks but I guess I figured it demonstrated what it needed to. The dial indicator just indicates repeatability of the position I came back to and typically I'm finding it comes back within about .030"

Nice work! Watching the video also gives some appreciation towards the mechanical engineering challenges there must be, to make a robot arm that would have precise and rigid movements with minimal or no backlash. Also, the challenges there would be trying to electrically connect the moving parts, of a 6 axis robot, without loose wires (that knock Jenga puzzles over). On a lighter note, it looks like you need 2 robot arms. One to hold the knife and another to hold the tomato! :-)
@anninrobotics6 жыл бұрын
I should have redone the video so the blocks wouldn’t get hit. But to your point it was a ton of work to design and keep it cheap. Tough to tuck and loom wires on something that small with no exoskeleton. Thank you for the compliment.

yea, I think it would do OK with an extruder but really this is mean more for basic material handling. I think 3 axis machines are much better built for printing and cutting.
