I equate the Israel and Palestine situation to a country that has been colonised. There are many people in the world who have lost their land to colonisers. For example, British colonialism. Countries that have come from such a history are not in a position to have any input to how Israel are conducting themselves because these countries are in possession of land's that they took from indigenous people historically. But in the case of Israel, Israelis actually have a historical connection to the land. Where countries of British colonial history, for example, saw people who did not even have a connection to a land, annex it. So, I'd say that Israel has won the battle to own the land. Palestinians can become Arab Israeli, while at the same time, be free of Muslim extremists.
