ARABIAN THAI FOOD In Thailand's MOST DANGEROUS Province 🇹🇭 PATTANI: Is It Safe?

PATTANI, THAILAND - I'm in the deep South of Thailand in Pattani Province. I was excited to explore and I was blown away by the kindness of people, historical attractions, the delicious street food snacks, and the amazing natural beauty. The food here in Pattani was some of the best in Thailand and totally unique. Influenced by Malaysian food and Arabian food, I ate Roti, Khao Yam (an incredibly rice salad) and best of all the food, a delicious Arabian Thai food feast. On my journey south, everyone was telling me I should not be going to Pattani and the deep south because it was dangerous. But is it really dangerous in Pattani? Let's find out.
Here are the things we did in this Pattani travel guide video:
Pattani Central Mosque - I started this tour of Pattani at the amazing Pattani Central Mosque where I also met a cat in need of my help.
Khao Yam / nasi kerabu - An incredible rice and herb salad which can be found all over Thailand. I eat it for breakfast at a little street food market in the center of Pattani. It was unlike anything I have eaten in Thailand and totally delicious.
Krue Se Mosque - Welcome to the oldest mosque in Thailand, known for its brick construction and arches. It was built with Middle East and European styles in the 16th century.
Arabian Thai Food - I eat my Arabian Thai food feast for lunch. Honestly, the people are so friendly in Pattani and the hospitality is incredible. I only ordered a few dishes here but he kept bringing out more food for me to try. My favourite part was the homemade bread made in the tandoor.
Pattani Beaches - I take a ride around the cape to see the coastline and beaches in Pattani. Totally unexpected, these beaches are beautiful and one day might be touristy.
Roti - I finish the video late at night at a little Roti restaurant. I am the only tourist in there but it felt safe and friendly. The roti was amazing of course.

I come from Pattani but now living in Phuket. Thank you for visit Pattani. Foods in Pattani are delicious and cheap, in Pattani local village cheaper than in Pattani Town. For noodle only 10-20 baht and Khou Yam only 5-10 baht. Originally Pattani food different from Thai foods. Now i am 39 years old, Pattani people start try Thai food and know how to cook Thailand when i was young and Thai food getting popular there. Many Pattani people go to open Thai foods restaurant or be Chef in Malaysia. Malaysian people really like Thai foods. They said Pattani Chef good cooking. My best friend from Narathiwat Thailand, province next to Pattani now she is Chef and teaching Malaysian student about foods major in University at Malaysia. My cousin had big restaurant in Malaysia, but when he has kids he sold everything there and back to Pattani with a lot of million-baht money. He bought 3-4 million bouse, 1+ million car, open noodle shop in Pattani, buy new land all in cash. For beef noodle he is selling in Pattani only 20 baht. I always go to eat when back to local Pattani. In Pattani town safer than in Pattani local village. If you want to go inside local village better go with local people, because local people speak malayu don't speak Thai and English. But local Pattani people age lower than 40 years now understand Thai language. In pattani, people mostly speak malayu (malaysia) for me i speak Malayu as mother tongue and start learn Thai when go to school and start speak Thai when 9 years old. When i go to Malaysia i speak Malaysia all the time, don't use english (i just back from Malaysia 9 April 2024 this month. But for Thai i fluent Thai too as i finished university in Thailand and always got A grade in Thai language. In Pattani still not popular about tourist, but in the future if safer, Pattani Yala and Narathiwat will be nice place to explorer as there have different culture from Thailand and many beautiful hidden places don't people don't know yet.

This is another thank you. Have been catching up with all the videos I have missed. Thanks for the touring videos of Thailand. I often wonder what other folks are doing between eating. Im from Chicago and Muslim. I want to visit am " unsafe" city in deep southern thailand. I dont drink. I live wet, say and night markets. And plenty of mosque. Anyone with recommendations?

Great!! Well Hat Yai is considered dangerous by some articles online, which I find hilarious. It has great food and is worth a visit, with nearby Songkhla old town very pretty too. But for what you are looking for, I think you will have to visit Pattani. It is very local, pretty much no tourists. Incredibly friendly. Amazing food and some really interesting stuff to do and see if you get yourself some transport. Sure, it is not going to make travel guides. but I really enjoyed my time there. If you do like Motorcycles, riding through Betong in Yala is also a must. Many people ride up from Malaysia to do that. I have a bit of it in my video from Yala. But do not fear "unsafe" Thailand... It is great!
