this reminds me of black- and deathmetal logos. Both have a similar way of using just the shapes of letters to draw.

I pretty never listen to any type of metal, if you got some recommendations for cover arts or logo I'd love to take a look at them

@@RandomAbdallah Shure. I was thinking of Lorna Shore, Signs of the Swarm, Within destruction, Darkthrone, Black Tongue, Vektor and bell witch. Many try to create symmetry by deforming Letters

Islamic caligraphy and geometry are so pretty and complex, they inspired many iconic buildings styles and architecture such as the gothic style in Europe. It is such a petty that most Arab/muslim countries are now using the relatively ugly modern architecture that seem to not have any identity or soul in them. I just can’t get over how breathtaking Islamic architecture (and art in general) is. سبحان الخالق الذي علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم❤

I am learning Arabic, specifically al-fuSHa on recommendation of my friend 'Ali before he'll start to teach me his dialect if Egyptian Arabic. While I still struggle and with reading to some extent and won't pretend to be able to read it, 6:02 I can see words there that I know. I see 'alaa and ilaa as well as Allah, his name is clear even to me. Some of the letter shapes feel a little loose but I can make out waws and more. It's really cool how even though I'm studying Arabic centuries later, large parts of an older text are still readable, even now

Absolutely, the vocab might change quite a bit between times and regions but it is honestly very beautiful to see these old Arabic scripts. I am glad you could read some of the words, I definitely needed quite a bit of help and Arabic is my mother tongue! Good luck on your Arabic learning journey as well

My opinion we should only make these calligraphic images of important people in islam, like the Prophet ﷺ his wives, his companions, the scholars, the angels, and of course Allah SWT. And making calligraphy of Quranic verses is fine. I don’t really like the modern calligraphy of putting the arabic calligraphy inside animals and stuff like that.

I mean it is haram to depict the prophet in imagery. But using the arabic language to depict other things or make paintings I think is a valid thing to do. Artistic calligraphy exists everywhere from Chinese to Latin, but very few languages have the luxury of being usable in such an artistic context. And I think using them that way is valid to be honest. Look for assassin's creed mirage animal calligraphy meaning to know what they say!

Habibi do not worry about the ones being unreadable, I myself couldn't read some of them without the help of the internet and I lived in Arab countries until I was 15. When Arabic is used to make things look beautiful ease of writing and reading take a step back and it is now all about beauty!
