In Lebanon, the people who swear a lot use cuss words like lego , you need practice to know how to build a cussing sentence only from cuss words🤣🤣🤣

I am not Arab but my wife is, so I have been gradually picking up a few phrases here and there. My go to curse was "immach sharmutah" When I watched this special with her and he said Yelaen Tharekhek and what it meant I was like "I am going to use that!" I say it wrong and it just makes her laugh.

I'm a football (soccer, if you like calling it that sort.....) referee in Denmark, and we have two Arab teams close to where I live, and I looooove to referee them. In the season 2015-2016 they were even in the same league, so they had to play against each other twice, and booooooy that was fun... I was a spectator for the first game, and the referee just couldn't control the players. And he tried everything. So when I had to referee them later in the season, I decided to use A LOT of humour... After 71 minutes I gave a penalty to the away team. The defender from the home team thought it was a fair tackle, and he tried to explain me. When he realized that I wasn't changing my mind, he said loud in Danish; "I curse the hour I met you!"... So I replied; "It took a WHOLE hour to find out you didn't like me??? That's a record for me, thank you", and gave him a thumbs up... All players and spectators who heard started laughing, and the rest of the game went without any incidenses... I've refereed both teams many times now, and it's always funny, they are always nice. They always play 100% to win, but they never cross the line. I love refereeing them :)

The British hand gesture has a hell of a lot of history. During the Hundred years war in the 14th and 15th centuries, with the invention of the war bow, the British became a deadly threat to any and all French soldiers and knights, and any British archers who were caught by the French would have their shooting fingers, the index and middle, cut off. It became a threat and insult to flash the two fingers at the French as a sign that they were still in tact, and it made them a deadly threat. From there, you just flashed them at anyone you didn't like.

It’s not necessarily age, it’s context. Places with high population movement like America almost always become low context cultures which takes complicated rituals and streamlines them. Of course there’s variance, the South is much more low-context for example so there are more bywords, suggestions and implications than elsewhere.

My dad's family is armenian from Syria ) , I remember one night, one of my dad's cousin trying to explain how there was one insult that was really graphic in armenian, or maybe in arabic, I can't remember it very well. it was something in the line of : to swing (like playing on swings) inside the mouth of the person while in the same time shitting all over the place, plus something that had to do with the great grandmother or the family history? I remember him trying to explain it to me in french but he couldn't find the proper translation to express this punchline. If that rings a bell to anyone, feel free to refresh my memory lol

At the battle of Hulao gate, Zhang Fei Yide called Lu Bu Fengxian "the bastard of three fathers" (and he was so~ mad, because he couldn't deny it). For a long time this was my favourite. Yelaen Tarekhek is definitively superior to it, because it ought to be associated with so many men, organisations and institutions (like, say, the degenerate descendants of the schools of Hyppocrates, i.e. modern medicine, which is so openly and proudly wretched, and yet congratulated for its wretchedness ; or the modern police system, rooted in fear, deterrence and theft, all in the service of corrupted bourgeois administrations, and yet presented as some sort of role model, somehow) which you can't curse by simply asking God to curse the hour where you met them.

7:56 This I like, sounds very Russian -calm but powerful. 😎👍👏 The "cursing of all history and future-thing" is not even near offensive to me as a swede, just overdramatic with dramaqueen-vibes and I can't take sassy things seriously. If I don't like a person I give them a simple "goodbye" and spend no more time on them.
