One song that I reaaaly love with David’s drumming, supernova. Not the album version. That’s good too. But the live in Ludwigsburg 2022. Amazing song too. But his drumming on that song, it just captivates me. That show in full is amazing too! But man. I hope you get around to that live show. Cause wow. Finally you did it and I only had to wait 3 months 🙏This song is a masterpiece and my all time favorite so far. Imagine a hall with 12,000 people going completely crazy from the first second of Mindreader, shouting along to all the lyrics and starting 6 (!) circle pits... we experienced that in Stuttgart and it was incredible!

Ahhh my favorite serious EC track. Everything hits so hard on this one, but especially the drums. There's nothing that stands out as shocking about them, but that's the beauty of it... The drums absolutely take this song to the next level, but you don't even realize it. That's how you write and mix a song. And the live version? Nico sounds absolutely perfect, and his voice in the chorus sends you to another dimension. "CIRCLE PIT!!!!!"

If you listen to a view interviews by electric callboy, you know, that they are fans of Linkin Park. So it isn't surprising, that you may get some Linkin Park influence in several of their songs. Another song with great Linkin Park vibes is "Neon", which is the last song in their album. In my opinion this song is heavily underrepresented in the reaction channel community (perhaps because there is no video for the song), but i highly recommend it.

Hey, as a metalhead i can definitely say: There is NOTHING wrong with Nickelback :D They are a perfect banb to introduce metal to people who are new to the genre. You could call them Ice Breakers (btw. Electric Callboy falls into the same niche, but with harsh vocals). Everybody who hates on Nickelback because thei'd be Mainstream or no "real Metal" should really question themselfs to take of the black & white goggles. Tank also did a great video on that. Other than that, don't miss out Hate & Love! :D I think it's even better then Mindreader!

Now I finally have the time to comment and it's likely too late for you to see it, but well 🙈 I love their dark songs so much. I feel like it hits different when a band is known for their fun stuff (which are great) and then sprinkles in those dark brutal songs (music and lyrics wise). So, Nickelback, huh? 😅I personally think they got so much hate because a. their commercial songs, especially "how you remind me" were played to death on the radio and music tv channels (when they still existed) and those songs had a pretty polished and similar formula. And b. tbh I think a lot of rock or metal fans "hate" them because they could do heavy if they wanted, but somehow all the promoted stuff was ... "Photograph". At least single wise. Like why not put "Burn it to the Ground" or something out there. I saw them at Rock im Park in 2004 (tbh because I waited for a different band) and they played "Sad but True" and it was amazing. People were shocked at how good it was. So I think that's their biggest problem. Making too radio friendly music when in their heart they are something different. But as I said, personal opinion (before I get jumped at for defending the "disgrace that is Nickelback" 😅😅) Edit: So stoked for EC live reactions and even more the behind the scenes stuff 😍

Canadian girlie here and I grew up loving Nickleback, I've always listened to music for the music itself and then fall in love with the artists for their personality too like I've done with EC. I love Björk and Ani DiFranco and lot of sidelined artists people just love of hate 🥹 Also Newfie music is amazing too, The Irish Descendants, have a listen to the music from my little eastern Island in Canada :)

I knew you were talking about Nickleback the moment you started apologizing for liking them. They're small town guys that largely wrote all their own music and made a ton of money playing it. Most of the hate against them was fabricated artificially and then regurgitated by people who didn't know it was all part of a low tier comedian's act. Funny enough though, the hate probably made them even more popular and successful.

In music "hate" is often the wrong vocabel. I just don't like the music of Nickelback, but I also do not know very much about them to hate them. I know only the songs who we all know. But I see where you coming from. David drumming is also very outstanding in this song. And EC know how to mix that the right things shine a little bit more.
