I own two Corsair X: a CBR and a Nakasuga 2 helmet. I also own an XD4 Africa Twin, XD4 Vision and a VX-Pro Nicky 7 helmet. These are among my most prized possessions. Arai is the only helmet brand I ever want to wear. Thank you Arai!

Are all "X" model shields the same? I am having trouble finding the a replacement which specifically lists my 2015 " Drudi Performance Signet-X" and I don't want to buy the wrong replacement shield.

The website recommends carnauba wax for the visor. Do you have a product recommendation? There's a lot of stuff out there, that I don't think would be appropriate (high gloss wax for instance).

We do not have any particular carnauba wax brand or product, just 100% Carnauba Wax.

We normally use a soft cloth and rub the cloth into the carnauba and from there buff the shield with it.

why does my new quantum X sound like there is an electric short in the right side? I have no communication device or anything else installed. Just got it and it has this sound when I go over 60 MPH why?

My Signet-X does the same. Realized the air intake on the top right was causing the issue. Something slightly off on the hole into the helmet I think. I just keep it closed and don't get the sound.

Can I wash the liners and pads while they’re inside the helmet?

We make the padding very easily removed, so it's best to remove the padding.

Braca, if your helmet has some mold, it would be best to replace the headliner and cheek pads at the very least.

@@BracaPhoto If the removable headliner and cheek pads have that smell, it would be better to replace them. Also you can always use a little bit of baby shampoo on the liners.

What type of wax do you recommend for the helmet?

I would think an occasional light coating of spray wax would be the most you'd need. Consider emailing or chatting with Arai on their website.

Don't forget to run the chin straps back through the check pads when reinstalling them. I am pretty sure this was not mentioned in the video although it may be obvious.

William, the foam will not disintegrate in water. So yea, once the head liner and cheek pads are removed the helmet can be fully submerged in water.

If you're watching this in 2022 or later, look at the video my MotoGeo instead. This is a bad video. The hardest part (reassembly) is done in less than a minute. Look at the "most replayed sections". It's almost exclusively reassembly. It went too fast and with poor camera angles. So frustrating.

Is this a joke? Only warm water? Shoei recommends neutral ph soap so correct me if I am wrong: SHOEI'S glues and resins are superior to ARAI'S ? I have both ( ARAI SZ-R VAS and SHOEI NXR) but I love the SHOEI with a passion!

You can use neutral soap on an Arai if you want to, they're suggesting you don't need to.

I ignored that and used Atsko SportWash, it is made for high tech fabrics like microfiber, fleece and Gore-tex.

@ShortySaidSheLikeMe I use the motul helmet clean for the exterior and Johnson's baby shampoo for the removable interior padding. The shell of the helmet is like brand new, zero issues. The internal padding has begun to deteriorate( some kind of glue appeared on the external side of the padds,the side that touches the interior of the helmet ) after just 2 gentle, hand washing procedures with a tea spoon of Johnson's and lukewarm water. Arai interiors for my model, cost 120€!!! I love Arai helmets and I strongly believe they are (by far) the best, but this is the last time I buy one, it's impossible to clean the interior of helmet just with water and 120€ to replace the padding is a lot to stomach .
