Did you of you have the full scan like did they scan you above the head.. It's so weird why some machines just like that scan go over the head

I had a bone density test today; mine was done similar, but slightly different. The first part was exactly the same ( on back laying flat). But the next step was different ~ I sat on a chair next to table, with left arm ( non dominant)flat on table. That was it!

I had this test done years ago does not hurt. Bone loss. I had done after fractires from the bridge collapse in August 1, 2007. Last year in june 5, 2023. Fracture in my back. Arthritis in both knees. It did heal up.

I love medical technology. I am having a bone density test soon also. My only concern is that it is difficult for me to lay on my back and also lift my legs. But, I look forward to having this test so I can perhaps assist myself to heal.

Hi Julia, thanks so much for sharing with us this. A personal question. May I know if your mum and aunt who have bad osteoporosis are on HRT at all? Does Dexa not scan hands and feet? Can osteoporosis be happening at certain parts of othe body but not other parts? Thanks.
