The officiating is baffling this preseason, and is making me very scared of the regular season to come. Fucking yikes. Looks like column a column b to me. Stutzle saw him coming and put his hands up to brace. Xekaij definitely tried to throw a chicken wing at the end, stutzle took a bit of a dive. I'm a sens fan. As much as i like stutzle, he is prone to diving, but not so much anymore since the league got wise to it; thing is, every team has a guy whos really good at this, drawing penalties is a good way to swing a gane in your favour. You dont have to like it, but every team does it. I could see stutzle avoiding that hit and being wide open for a pass in the slot, but then again they scored 3 on the ensuing pp. I do like Xekaij, he's fun to watch but hes gonna get extra eyes on him from his attack on Pare the previous game. He plays on the edge but hes been over that edge. I also dont think the injuries are serious, i think they just ejected everyone because they didnt want the situation to devolve any further, especially in the preseason. It doesn't mean much, seperate the players that have issues, let the young guys get more reps. Blood drawn from stutzles own stick. Easier to eject everyone in the preseason lest it turn into a clown show
@lrwilliston3 ай бұрын
Habs fan here and I agree with your analysis. I don't however think that Stutzle was necessarily faking it, he took a pretty good whack in the face from his own stick. That would take out most guys for a bit.

Questionable because he has a rep, was elevating to try and get an up high hit, toss in the chicken wing and they had to toss him or the game would really devolve.
@andrewmaddix19994 ай бұрын
Habs fan here, I’m fine with them ejecting him to control the game, however…. Call him for a charge for leaving his feet, there was contact first which wouldn’t make it a charge but there’s no way that’s interference, he had just released the puck and watched his pass. 0 contact to the head however it did seem to make everyone much happier that he was gone even Savard didn’t argue. I’m sure Marty was fine with it to afterwards just wanted to figure out why it was called. Also the reason his helmet came off was the force of the hit, there’s a famous f1 crash here the dudes shoes and socks came off due to the speed of the collision, glad to see stutzle was ok tho, 1 hell of a player. Stay awesome everyone.

If you target a team’s star player (as Greig clearly did to Dach), this is the natural outcome that will ensue as a result.
