I have a really SAD STORY! A Kenya born couple immigrated to another country some +15 years ago. In 2018, they applied for dual citizenship (reinstate Kenyan citizenship). They paid before Covid. They have tried almost every year when they visit Kenya. The run arounds they were given. Prove the Mpesa payment by providing a statement of 2018! Even though the evidence is in eCitizen. To get ONE citizenship paper cost them 800USD!!!! This country has gone to the dogs!

There was this mzee in kiambu driving 304 pickup to fetch machisha from Kenya brewery for his dairy cattle and used to carry thermostat with tea and every time police stop him and ask,mzee tuwachie chai,he would flush the thermostat and pour tea for them😂 and he pretending he doesn't doesn't

Kenyans have stooped too low. Go for your passport, they are going to teach you what it means to process your passport that you may need urgently. You have already paid the fees necessary. Go to Huduma center for a birth certificate or death certificate or just a service, bribe rules. You are traveling to the town center to proceed to wherever. Immediately all cars are being stopped abd checked. Every driver is giving sh.2,000 or more. This runs from 7am to 10am. Close to 1000 cars by sh.1,000= sh.1,000,000 within no time. This is one rural town. It happens daily all the time.

Hmmm I think in the majority of cases citizens also commit an offence and know they can just pay a bribe. Or while looking for a service, citizens actually plan for the bribe in advance. Let's be real and introspect please. We pay for jobs, services that are free, traffic offences etc. We as a people are part of the problem.

The bribery case that young man narrated is not to be laughed off but taken seriously and followed up. Not taking it seriously is the reason Kenyans continue to experience this stupidity by the police.

How about if one reopened his case for this 🚓 policeman to be charged? Work with civil rights institutions. He can be jailed and serve as an example. People asking for bribe to recruit others should be exposed.
