Arbor Tree Power Setup for the game Oxygen Not Inlcuded. Produces Sand when you use pokeshells, meat with slicksters and sanishells, polluted water can be used for thimble reed or oxygen production etc.

wild planted arbors for power is an effective way to have good water production early on. i would have used the polluted dirt in sage hatch ranches though. 4 ethanol distillers, produce enough polluted dirt to feed 5 sage hatches, which is enough to support one coal generator operating continuously.

Ah also nice. For me personally the sand has more value than power. Power is relatively easy to achieve but sand needs ranching or a drill rocket.

Sand can be replaced with regolith in most apllications (expect ceramic production) which makes it not that important since one or two trips to an asteroid here and there isnt that bad for ceramic production. Personally i turn polluted dirt to dirt to fertilize exuberant sleet wheats to make berry slugde and sleet wheat bread (?).

@@Lamogios sand can also be produced through rock crusher, via the salt vine chlorine vent route. 100kg of salt produces 100kg of sand and less than 1 kg of table salt.

I saw a setup a bit ago where instead of feeding the polluted dirt to the pokeshells, it was sent to sublimation stations, the polluted oxygen was then cleaned by a ton of deodorizers and the sand was recycled by turning it into ceramic first, then crushed back into sand. Only cost was a bit of coal to make the ceramic which can be supplied by sage hatches, fed by pips in with the trees. He did his whole oxygen system with that

Wow cool that is even more complicated. Here is the thought bwhind this one: In my current lets play i need to crush a lot of material to get sand for filtration. It uses up so much dupe time that i tried to make something less effective but fully automatic. Genious design that you are describing. This design is more for automatic materials.

I did a setup that used gravity to let the wood fall to the bottom floor. There is no need for the tiles between the trunks, and open doors can be used for dupes to run over initially. At first it dropped directly to the distillers, but an insulation layer is better for heat management. Only the bottom layer needs sweepers and rails. I used sublimation too, but unlike using deodizers, I would chill the polluted oxygen until it state changes to either cold oxygen for base usage, or liquid oxygen for rockets. Very easy to mass use polluted dirt via auto sweepers, rails, and no filtration material needed. Less overall complexity as gravity does the work of sweepers and rails too. These trees ultimately fed 02 for my entire base and space program.

You can fit more trees into the same space by alternating between 1 and two spaces apart. Each tree can grow up to 5 branches, 3 on one side, one on top, and one on the other side which can be shared with another tree.
@lumaraw
@lumaraw Жыл бұрын
That's true. I haven't compacted everything yet. This is the Mark I version. Is the more compact planting more difficult to achieve?
@alfa-hf7lp
@alfa-hf7lp Жыл бұрын
@@lumaraw No it's super easy. I build ladders on top of all the spaces in a room except the one I want pips to plant in then deconstruct the laddars one by one until they're all planted. Just alternate between one and 2 spaces between the trees so they all have 5 branches. If one tree grows 3 branches on the side it shares with another you can uproot a branch and it will chose a random spot to regrow but harvesting branches regrow in the same spot so once they all have 5 branches they're fine forever. I always check to make sure they all have 5 branches but I only ever need to fix something about once every 30 trees or so. Super worth as it increases tree density by 20%.

Domesticated trees works better for me if a polluted water geyser is available. i have 2 rooms with trees and pips as Stable and 2 rooms as Farm only with trees. pips producing a lot of meat, and system is Dirt positive in total.
@lumaraw

That is cool. In a domesticated actively farmed farm you get more produce or can make the farm smaller. This version was more of a first attempt to an automated setup where the dupes are not needed.

Hey Charlie Ligon. Nothing changed. Just to be sure i checked again with pip planting the row since i could not remember myself how i planted them. No problem worked fine. I suggest checking out @Echoridgegaming 's Tutorial on that matter. A 4 tile high room is good enough for the right distance upwards. The tile a plant is planted in does not count only the "base tile/s" of the plant itself.

The branches don't count as plants. So it's one trunk, then 2 branches, then another trunk. But only the trunks count, so it's a tree every third spot. Pips can plant even closer, with every second spot as a simple 2 high plant.

Sure you can downsize this. But you will have to do..math. Check out the power you need and what amount of ethanol that corresponds to. Then you can check out how much polluted water and carbon dioxide that equated to. With that you can then size your farms however you like. You can also put the slickster in a 1 or 2 tile area that is open to the surrounding

feeding all your dirt to pokeshell to create sand is a waste of potential. sand is only used in oxygen cleaning device and polluted water cleaning device. so, maybe u should split the dirt to create oxygen and clay. not only sand.maybe even a sage hatch for the coal to change clay into ceramic. but just sand.... why for?

I take it neither liquid on its own is deep enough to cause a flooding event, but two tiles high of the same liquid will be treated as flooding.

Just realize aquatuner without steam turbine so this is not forever
@lumaraw
@lumaraw Жыл бұрын
As i mentioned in the video..the aquatuner is the thing i would place somewhere else. And no you do not need a steam turbine for it to be forever. You need enough material that can absorb the DTU/s produced. The liquid of the polluted water or maybe even the crude oil can be enough to absorb the heat of the aquatuner. And since you always add more you will asymptotical come close to a hotter and hotter temperature but you that is not enough for it to break. Is the crude oil enough? that depend on how much your thimble reed room heats up. I would build it different. And have the squatuner be cooled by the polluted water in version 2 for example.
