@@SantiagoHernandez-bj3mb i ended up washing it a week ago. man what a difference! i guess i got used to a dirty jacket, this is much brighter in color now. zippers work much smoother too. dude you gotta wash it =D i was nervous as heck when washing it but results are great! i used nikwax spray on dwr and the jacket is like new again!

Back in real life, the Arc'teryx "lifetime" warranty is completely bogus. I sent my very lightly used Sabre jacket from 2018 in for a broken zipper, and they refused to fix it because they claimed the "membrane was contaminated". I can assure that apart from the zipper, there is nothing wrong with the jacket, which has been regularly washed, and it is in at least 10x better condition than the 2004 video shown in the video. I guess the warranty only applied to pro skiers.

Same here, BetaSV declared "unrepairable" after three years and a broken zipper. $700 over three years is way too steep. Very disappointing, not sure I'll ever by Arc'teryx again; and I just refused to purchase an Arc'teryx climbing harness, because guess what, the plastic covers around the straps break in no time. Hello Mammut!

How do I do if I don’t have a dryer ? Is this step important or can I just dry my jacket on a non heated flat surface ?

i just bought a bottle of detergent from arcteryx store same as the one used in this video, it doesn’t mention anything about dryer

If you are reapplying DWR you need to put it in a dryer or dry it by hair dryer, if it is just a regular wash you can let it air dry dry just fine

Or to reactivate the goretex the company also says you can use an iron when a dryer isn't available, "water repellent finish. If a dryer isn't available, iron the garment on a warm, gentle setting without steam. Use a towel between the garment and the iron."

use an iron, place a fabric between the jacket and the iron. dont use steam, just the heat and not in the highest setting

wait, every 6-12 wears? that seems too often...im going to be wearing my Arcteryx Sabre SV for skiing for at least 20-30 days total this season. So I wash it after wearing it for 6-12 days? and how heavy wear are we talking?

The way I understand it is 6-12 ‘heavy wears’ what I would take as a heavy wear is trekking/friction/terrible weather/dirt etc. I also find that due to the low temperatures and the fact it’s snow that the waterproof will perform well even when worn compared to that of heavy rain, so I’d say if you were doing 20-30 mountain trekking days with wind/sleet/hail and snow then that would be a wash every 6-12 wears but skiing would probably get away with a wash and reprood at the half way point. My hi vis gore-tex jacket is completely scratched up after following your instructions to the letter. 240 pounds! You should recommend to wash garments inside out and minimise spinning. Not happy. I hate wasting my hard earned money. I bought it just one month ago!

How do you remove the wrinkles? I have a beta ar and there are times that I use it on city/urban areas. but when i take it out of my bag its all wrinkled and unpresentable 😞.

Not sure if a steamer works for gore-Tex jackets but I would try it from a distance and shake the jacket

I used the steamer on my iron and sprayed it with a distance of about a foot and covered with paper towel just the heat from that made it straight

Steaming from a distance is completely safe, be aware of the temperature of the jacket. Warm is fine, hot is not.

Hey! I would recommend ironing your garment through wa towel. It will remove the wrinkles and reactivate DWR (the thing that makes your jacket waterproof) at once.

What happens with all the micro plastics that go into the drain? I was wondering if washing every six wears is a tad excessive. You can get micro plastic filters for the out flow of the machine..
