First off, excuse the annoying sounds of water landing in the microphone on my phone at the last clip. I did my best to edit it. I had to edit out more than half of that last clip. So, my apologies.
This was filmed in the neighborhood called Croswoods in Citrus Heights, CA. My grandparents used to live here many years ago, and as a kid, I remember this part of Arcade Creek would usually flood, or be at flood stage during good storms.
Knowing how bad this storm is, and was predicted, I knew I had to go see how bad the flooding was in croswoods. When I got there, it was like I thought it would be. Looked exactly like it did when I was a kid. I believe the year was 1997. It’s flooded a lot since then, I just never got to see it as I moved away or live far away and wasn’t able to drive to croswoods.
Arcade Creek is known for flooding. This location is best for me to get to. Other popular places where Arcade Creek floods is on main roads. And I wasn’t going to deal with all the traffic to get video of the street flooding. The best place to see flooding is near American River College (ARC). Winding way is completely flooded under many feet of water. Usually the local news crews set up over there as that’s the worst spot for flooding.
I filmed this around 4:45 pm. It’s currently close to 9 pm right now and it’s still raining and will continue overnight. This creek will rise a lot more overnight. Leaving the area, I drove by the street with that house and the residents had the garage door open and had pick up trucks in the driveway. I know that house had flooded, or will flood. Hopefully the damage they get won’t be severe.
Thanks for watching.
