I've seen this video like 3 or 4 times. I like that they did something different. Not only are all of the celebrities in this video ones I enjoy in their respective shows, but I feel they are used to great effect. Who doesn't love bill hader and zach gallifianakis from their careers or especially their guest spots on comedy bang bang, Michael Cera from Arrested Development, etc. also, arcade fire is a phenomenal band and this album, while I didn't like it at first, has quickly become one of my all time favorite albums. I think this video shows the band has a great sense of humor and I applaud them for making a nearly 30 minute video that kills. If you don't like it, I'm sorry, but this is just amazing.

A lot of people have criticized Arcade Fire for challenging traditional norms of music, but I definitely see where they are going with this album, postmodernism anyone? Where nothing is certain and categories have lost their meaning, where individuals live in a hyper reality, where anything can become anything. Arcade Fire is merely channeling what reality is becoming or what is left of the narratives or frameworks of meaning, reality and music, just look at for example of them entering a "Salsateque" club where clearly no salsa is played, canadian accent by james franco, spliced random clips of nonsense, a staged choreographed audience, spaced is occupied and meaning is altered and given new meaning.... this is the postmodern music video or is it?

Arcade Fire will never be as influential as Nirvana, period. Partly because Win continues to insist upon singing instead of writing the tunes and stepping aside. However, this ain't bad.
